Hello-
If you have been accepted into the UT Health Science Center School of Nursing Accelerated program and have questions/comments about the whole process-post here! We can all get through these hoops together:yeah:
Hey, I just started the UT- accelerated BACC 2 program and I was wondering if could give me study tips for the 6 courses. It just feels like it's a lot and I was wanting the perspective on someone who's done it before. Also you mention you lived in The Woodlands, did you use the The Woodlands Express as travel means? And if so, how did it work out for you?
Any tips are deeply appreciated.

You absolutely cannot. I ran into difficulty because I had my finances all lined up to not work for the year, then the economy changed and I had to go back to work; I tried to do both for a few weeks, but it was absolutely impossible to keep my grades up and do all the clinicals (and you have to do 2-3 twelve hour clinicals per week plus care plans). Long story short, I had to transfer to a regular program at another school because I had no choice but to work. For the UT fast-track program, when they say you can't work, they really mean you can't work. You are taking 20 credits of very, very competitive courses each of three semesters. Your day will be measured in hours, and you will end up resenting each hour taken away from study for anything else. You will have to plan your time very carefully, and be sure to warn your family that you won't be available for cooking, cleaning, outings and all the other things we take for granted. I don't say this to discourage you, but to be real with you. The program is a great program, but it takes 110% dedication for that 11 months. Hope this helps as you make your decision, and good luck in your choice.
