Anyone????? besides me waiting on that interview letter for nursing school to come already?????????????? :plsebeg: Have you completed all your pre-reqs? what cha got left? care to share your GPA?

I am in the works of completeing my last pre-req...Physiology sooo far its been my fav. class its better than anatomy. GPA 3.5 microbio and physio not inlcuded. (I wish I didn't suck at comp. 1 I got a C in that class you guys!)

I emailed Debbie (she's the head hancho of the program. They are very good at replying like a minute later to your emails :typing and also very good at answering all phone calls) I asked about how I should go about registering for the TEAS entrance exam...she said on the same day you do your interview you also take the TEAS exam!

WHAT??? :banghead: is what I thought to myself sooo...I basically have till the month of April to study for that sucker!

Wow well I'm glad they are getting it straightened out!

It seems like some of us had different problems... missing school roster page, FBI being slow...

I got cleared two days ago but my hold hasn't been removed yet so I was looking around at the classes... they all still have over 100 seats open. Seems like plenty of people haven't registered yet!

I'm like you in that Miranda, I like to be ahead, and early so nothing goes wrong...

I've been bargain shopping for books and today I got one that someone else ordered and paid for but it was somehow shipped my address. I'm in TX and the other person is in Missouri! Go figure that one... now that person will be waiting a long time while the book finds it way back!

:banghead: The fingerprint saga continues....today I get and email from the BON saying, "As of today's date we have not received your fingerprint cards. Yes, you will need to resubmit a new set of fingerprint cards." So I jumped onto L-1's web site and set up an appointment for tomorrow afternoon. Of course, the closest loaction to me is booked up until next Wed, so I had to set it up through the northwest location. I always said I was willing to resubmit my prints but, it burns me up that now I get to pay another $45!:angryfire

I did email Debbie (at the school) to let her know what the BON is now having me do. I just want to get this done so I can register. I thought the interview and test just to get into the UTHSC was stress-inducing...this fingerprint fandango ranks right up there!

:eek: So now I'm not so sure I need to redo my fingerprints! AHAHA! I emailed Debbie, from the school, with the info I received in this morning's email --- redo my prints. She told me to double check that with Mr. Wier, since he's the one dealing with UTHSCSA's missing prints. She had not heard anything from Mr. Wier about the results yet. Who do I listen to now?

I'm sorry I'm venting all this here, but where else could I vent and people would understand?

Wow Miranda... it's makes you want to drive up there and do it yourself since someone along the chain is not being clear or correct or speedy.

I was told on Monday and then got a follow up call on Tuesday telling me that I was cleared and that I'd get the blue card in the mail soon, like it had been sent out already... haven't gotten it yet, so I guess it wasn't mailed out all that quickly? They are only in Austin... should take like two days right? eh... just really impatient at this point.

I would be very angry too if they told me to pay for new prints! You didn't mess up, someone else did...

When I asked they also told me that my school had been notified too... but I guess they don't call or say so electronically? As of yesterday Debbie said she didn't have any notification for me that I cleared, and if I got my blue card, to fax or email it to her.

Maybe the BON should hire more help if they are having trouble keeping up with the demand.

Me again, so Debbie from the school emailed me today if I had gotten my background check done and if I still wanted to be in the Fall 09 class. I freaked out, until I realized that she sent that email to all the people still missing the background checks. I sent off an email to her to let her know that I did another background check last Friday (yep, had to pay anothero $45 for another background check) and would contact the BON to see where that one is....drumroll please.......the BON sent out the backbground check results yesterday!!! Yeah! I'm guessing that's good, because he did not say exactly what those results were, but I know there isn't anything in my background, so it has to be good news, right? Can you tell I'm scared to be excited about this? I sent Debbie another email letter her know that the school should be getting my results soon.

So once the background check clears, I get to register? Yippie, I can't wait!!! One more step closer!

Yay miranda! That sounds like good news... funny how they can whip that new one out in about a week but we had to wait months!

Well beware, the BON told me they had notified the school but they never did. I had to wait a week to get my blue card and I emailed Debbie scanned copies of it. Then yes, I FINALLY got to register on Tuesday.

Sounds like you're pretty safe... :wink2:

We should be getting another packet in the mail soon right? Like about orientation?

My background check results finally made it to the school! I just finished registering for classes!!!

Has anyone gotten their id and parking permit? How did that go?

Now I need to prepare for orientation. What should I bring with me that day (which also happens to be my birthday and wedding anniversary, Aug. 19)?

It feels good to finally be 'official'!

I'm glad you finally got to register!!

I found out that we are not able to get our parking permit and student ID until a couple days before orientation. I tried to get mine earlier, but couldn't...So the wait continues.

Hi trueblondy! Wow, so did they say what days we could go get our id and parking permit? It seems like we are taking baby steps to get into the nursing program!

I have not gotten an orientation packet yet. I did get my blue postcard for the cleared background check today, but my hold was cleared three days ago.

I logged onto the student center and saw that my tuition balance is posted. I am getting a student loan to cover that, but I don't understand how that works. Does anyone know if the school draws directly from the student loan or do I get the loan funds and then I pay for the tuition?

I'm just now getting used to calling myself a "nursing student". I can't help but grin when I say it!!!

What happens is the school will get all your loan money (make sure you fill out those promissory notes) and then will take out the cost of tuition and what not and then write you a check for the remaining balance. (Unless its a private loan I don't know how those work...)

I found it easier doing direct deposit instead of getting that check. I think you can set up your direct deposit on the Student Center page if i recall correctly.

Hey Ya'll!!!

Yea, I just saw my tutition balance this morning..I like it being less than $3,000!!! I have loans too and the school told me that the loans will be applied approximately 10 days before the first day of school. That direct deposit sounds a lot easier than waiting around for a check..I think I will look into that :) Thanks AznPlayR!

About the parking permit and student ID -> The school told me that most students go the week before orientation...SOO I'm taking that as a hint to go the week before orientation.

I am SOOO excited to meet all of you at orientation! I cannot wait! I wish that it was here already!!!
