Anyone????? besides me waiting on that interview letter for nursing school to come already?????????????? :plsebeg: Have you completed all your pre-reqs? what cha got left? care to share your GPA?

I am in the works of completeing my last pre-req...Physiology sooo far its been my fav. class its better than anatomy. GPA 3.5 microbio and physio not inlcuded. (I wish I didn't suck at comp. 1 I got a C in that class you guys!)

I emailed Debbie (she's the head hancho of the program. They are very good at replying like a minute later to your emails :typing and also very good at answering all phone calls) I asked about how I should go about registering for the TEAS entrance exam...she said on the same day you do your interview you also take the TEAS exam!

WHAT??? :banghead: is what I thought to myself sooo...I basically have till the month of April to study for that sucker!

I got an orientation email today! It had a schedule of orientation days. It also said that an orientation packet has been mailed out already. I haven't gotten one, so I emailed them to let them know.

Orientation starts Sunday, Aug. 16, so I guess I'll go the week of Aug. 10th to get my id and parking permit.

I am very excited and completely terrified about orientation!

Wow, I stand corrected...my orientation packet came in the mail about 10 minutes after I typed my previous message!

One thing I noticed; the orientation email said the orientation packet would have a parking pass for orientation days, but mine did not contain the parking pass. The mailed orientation packet letter did suggest that we purchase our parking permit prior to attending orientation, so maybe they want us to use that instead of issuing a different parking pass for orientation. But then again, the emailed parking info specifically stated that we should park in a certain lot. Maybe I'm overthinking this, but I just want to succeed so badly. I want this year to start off right, and with the fun I had with my background check, I'm a little anxious for everything else to work out.

Hey!!

I just got my orientation packet today...WoW...its ALOT to take in at one time!! So I think they mailed them out yesterday...

Yea, I think I'm going to go that week before because I called the parking services/student ID services today and they told me that new students have to wait until a couple days before orientation because they are still trying to enter everyone's information in the computer and get all the people that graduated out...IDK..

WoW..can you believe school starts in less than a month!! How ExCiTiNG:yeah:

Yep, it was a lot to take in at one time! I had to put it down and come back to it after I calmed down some.

:DI am so excited! I got my bill in the mail too today. There is a fee for the fitness center on there, so I'm going to make sure I get my $180's worth! It's perfect timing because I'm training for my 4th 1/2 marathon and having a fitness center on campus works out perfectly!

The summer is going by so fast!

I got the first orientation packet on the 28th and the emails... today I got another packet with little new information, but it did have the parking pass. It's only good for 2 out of 3 days.

I'm excited about starting school too, only about 3 weeks to go!

The most confusing and irritating part of all the info is that some of it contradicts itself... like the part where it says HIPPA training can only be done from campus computers, but they gave the website and it works from my home computer... Right now I just want the info on the Course Reserves to be uploaded so I know when my labs and clinical will be. I thought clinical was just going to be TUE or WED but there are two sections on a SAT as well.

Anywho, at least we have readings to look over ahead of time. ;)

Trueblondy2006, what number did you call to ask about when we can get our id and parking permit? I will be up by the school this Friday and was hoping I could stop in and get those done then.

Anyone else try doing the HIPPA class online? I was able to do it here at home, but I don't know if they will still want me to do it on campus. The orientation schedule has the website listed to go to for the HIPPA and it says you can only do it on campus, but it worked for me at home.

miranda819, I tried the HIPPA training at home and it worked for me too. I'm not sure if they'll want us to do it at the school also or not, but I did see that it said that it can only be done on campus.

I got a call on Friday from Mr. Villarreal at the school. He told me that they needed me to fill out a form for my clinical at the hospital. He told me that I was doing my clinical at University Hospital. Has anyone else found out the hospital they're assigned to? He also told me my clinical instructor was Ms. Victoria Dittmar and that my clinical day was on Tuesdays from 630 to 330 (which is what I wanted), so now all I have to find out are my skills lab times on Mondays and Fridays.

I can't believe that we only have 2 weeks left!! It's so exciting yet I'm getting nervous about it all. I still haven't registered because this week is the last week of classes, so I'm hoping to be able to register early next week. I can't wait to meet all of you at orientation.

Hi Hopeful,

I've been wondering about the clinical assignments and skills lab. The calendars in the mailed packet mentioned that this info would be posted on the E-Res but it's not yet.

Maybe they are still sorting us out? I'm not picky about the hospital but I'd like a Tues. 6:30-3:30 as well *crosses fingers* I'm getting anxious to start classes already too!

HIPPA worked at home... so I just printed out the certificate at the end to hand in to the Undergrad Office like it said to. Whoever typed that up may just be under the impression that it will only work on campus... idk.

Were you able to log in to E-Res already? I wasn't sure when we could get on, or how to get the password. I also can't wait to find out clinical info! Oh well, only a week and a half until stuff starts...

This goes to the E-Res page:

http://eres.library.uthscsa.edu/eres/courseindex.aspx?error=&page=search

The password is on the Jump Start letter about the 3802 class... so far it's only been updated with the Calendars and letter we already have.

This one goes to the schedule and syllabi page, the links are the syllabi:

Just more info in case someone hadn't found it yet...

Does anyone about the shoes we're going to have to wear for our clinicals? I don't want to wait until the last minute to buy some, but I heard they were going to have to be black. Is that right? If so, how much color can they have on them because it's hard to find a pair of solid black shoes.

Plain black shoes, preferably leather. It is alright for there to be a symbol on them as long as it is not huge. For example, a nike sign would be fine. The uniform is going to be black pants and burnt orange top (which you have to buy from school). Yes, its really ugly. I cant stand it, but it is better than wearing white.
