Anyone????? besides me waiting on that interview letter for nursing school to come already?????????????? :plsebeg: Have you completed all your pre-reqs? what cha got left? care to share your GPA?
I am in the works of completeing my last pre-req...Physiology sooo far its been my fav. class its better than anatomy. GPA 3.5 microbio and physio not inlcuded. (I wish I didn't suck at comp. 1 I got a C in that class you guys!)
I emailed Debbie (she's the head hancho of the program. They are very good at replying like a minute later to your emails :typing and also very good at answering all phone calls) I asked about how I should go about registering for the TEAS entrance exam...she said on the same day you do your interview you also take the TEAS exam!
WHAT??? is what I thought to myself sooo...I basically have till the month of April to study for that sucker!

My roommate and I are looking for a roommate and would love to have a fellow nursing student live with us. We just finished second semester today :). We live in Signature Ridge apartments which is about a mile away from school on Medical drive. It's a 3 bedroom and 2 bath and you would only need bedroom furniture, we have the rest of the apartment furnished. If you're like me, finding housing is very stressful, so please let me know if you or someone you know is interested.
If any of you are looking to save money, I would skip buying Tour Guide to Nursing School and Test Success. Maybe one of my classmates will post if they found them to be helpful. But to me, they were very common sense and a waste of money. The nurse practice act is another book that's required (if I remember right) and is something you'll need to know but it's available online for free so that may be another book you might consider not buying or at least not now if money is really tight.
Has anyone heard anything else from the school? I'm just wondering how long we'll have to wait before we hear something and when we can register for classes.
I didn't even think about checking the letter. I haven't looked at it since we got it and I just reread it and it does say in June we'll be getting more info. Sorry about that.
I have a few questions maybe one of you can help me with.
I did my fingerprinting/background check back on May 1st through L-1 Identity. Are we supposed to hear anything back about those prints? Does the Board of Nursing send us anything if our background check is clear?
I also completed my CPR for Health Care Providers today. Do I send the school a copy of my certification card?
In regards to your question concerning the background check, upon completion of the check, the board of nursing in texas sends out a notice stating whether you are cleared or further inquiry is necessary. I received my clearance from the board about one week after my fingerprints were submitted. You should be getting something in the mail shortly. See you in the fall miranda.
Thanks for your help! Wow, a week after your fingerprints were submitted? It's been a month since I had my fingerprints done. I know for a fact that my background check is clean, I don't even have a speeding ticket! I hope I hear something from the BON soon!
For the CPR card thing... Last year we just made a copy of it during orientation week and turned it in!
Haha hopefully I will see you girls/guys during orientation because several organizations will be speaking to you and I think ours is making you do a Scavenger hunt! haha I'll be the lost asian fellow!
