I am in the works of completeing my last pre-req...Physiology sooo far its been my fav. class its better than anatomy. GPA 3.5 microbio and physio not inlcuded. (I wish I didn't suck at comp. 1 I got a C in that class you guys!)
I emailed Debbie (she's the head hancho of the program. They are very good at replying like a minute later to your emails :typing and also very good at answering all phone calls) I asked about how I should go about registering for the TEAS entrance exam...she said on the same day you do your interview you also take the TEAS exam!
WHAT??? is what I thought to myself sooo...I basically have till the month of April to study for that sucker!
Hey! I know the letter says more information will be sent out in June, but I was just wondering that since it is June, has anyone received anymore information from UTHSCSA? Also, does anyone know when we can go get a student ID and all the good stuff?
Hi! I just a letter Tuesday (6-9) explaining my financial aid. I also received an email the same day with the same information. The email also said, "Please note that if you are a new student you will not be able to log on to accept your aid until you receive your Access Security Form from the Registrar's Office. If you receive this notice before you receive that just wait a couple of days as it will be forthcoming." So I'm guessing that any day now we should be getting our log in information. I hope it comes in soon, the financial aid letter says I have to respond withing 15 days, but I can't respond until I have my login info.
I still haven't heard anything about my background check. I emailed the school last week and they haven't received anything either. The school told me to wait at least another week and then get in touch with them to see if the background check came in. But I received a financial aid letter, so you would think that the background check had to be clear before they sent that?
Hey guys, i had received a letter last week with an appointment at the VA hospital for a background check in case I am chosen for this particular for my clinicals. There is no charge and my appointment is on Monday June 22. Has anybody else gotten something like this?

Hi! I also went for my background check on May 1, and I haven't heard anything back about it. I've emailed the school twice and they have not gotten anything back. The school told me to call the Board of Nursing to find out the status. I called the BON on Tuesday, and they had not gotten anything back on the background check. The BON told me to call L1, the place I did the fingerprinting. L1 said that they sent the prints and information to DPS and that DPS will not release the whereabouts of my background check to me, they will only release that information to the company that issued the check (UTHSCSA). L1 told me to call the BON back, give them my TCN # (the number written on the bottom of my receipt) and have the BON contact DPS to find out the status of my background check. So that is what I did this past Tuesday. The BON issued "an inquiry" on my background check, took my phone number and told me they would get back to me within 3 to 5 business days. Confusing, huh? So far I haven't heard anything back.
All these calls took me almost an hour. I was on hold forever both for the BON and L1! I just hope I hear something soon.
Wow, I hope you hear from them soon. I called the school about 4 weeks ago and they told me they hadn't gotten my background check back. They told me to give it another couple of weeks or so. I guess I need to call them on Monday and if they hadn't heard anything, I guess I'll be calling the BON and L-1 also. I hope to hear something back soon about it because I don't want it to cause any problems when it comes time to get things started with school.
I did my L1 background check on a month ago (May 15), received my blue card clearing me a week later. I have called UTHSCSA-Nursing School for over a month seeing on the status of the background check and all they said was just wait another week. Because of my pressing matter on scholarship deadline, I needed them to clear me from the background check. So finally, I talked to Dr. Yarbrough and we got it all cleared up. Apparently I was cleared a few weeks previously. So if you guys are in need of getting cleared, I would press the Nursing School on the matter. And if you guys did it on or before May 15, chances are you are cleared. If not I would check every Wednesday to see if the new list from BON has you cleared.
Well, I've never gotten a blue card or heard anything back about the background check. Who sent you the blue card? Maybe I should call them first to see if they have my info.
Miranda, which L-1 did you go to? I went to the one by Splashtown. If we both went to the same one on the same day, then maybe that's where the problem is starting from??
I never got a blue card clearing me either. I did go to the one by Splashtown, in the Region 20 building off of Hines on May 1 at 1:30. I am very concerned that something went wrong with the background check getting from DPS to the BON. I know it should be clear, I don't even have a speeding ticket for crying out loud!
The school website still shows a hold on my account because of the background check.
If I hear anything back about it I'll let you know. So far, nothing.
