Anyone????? besides me waiting on that interview letter for nursing school to come already?????????????? :plsebeg: Have you completed all your pre-reqs? what cha got left? care to share your GPA?

I am in the works of completeing my last pre-req...Physiology sooo far its been my fav. class its better than anatomy. GPA 3.5 microbio and physio not inlcuded. (I wish I didn't suck at comp. 1 I got a C in that class you guys!)

I emailed Debbie (she's the head hancho of the program. They are very good at replying like a minute later to your emails :typing and also very good at answering all phone calls) I asked about how I should go about registering for the TEAS entrance exam...she said on the same day you do your interview you also take the TEAS exam!

WHAT??? :banghead: is what I thought to myself sooo...I basically have till the month of April to study for that sucker!

Hi guys I got into the Accelerated program at UTHSCA. Now I can focus on Nutrition and Growth finals.

Does anyone have to get their CPR training done this summer? Exactly what kind of CPR training are they looking for? I assume it would be adult and child. Can we get it done anywhere or does it have to be at a certain place, such as the American Red Cross or American Heart Association? I was told that there is a place by the Magic Time Machine Restaurant that does CPR training called Master Train. Does anyone know about that place? I'm just trying to make sure I get as much done as early as possible.

I need to get mine done this summer too. I'm not sure, but I think we need Healthcare Provider CPR. A friend of mine works at the Baptist and said they have classes. Here is the web site...

I was surprised that nothing was mentioned about the CPR certification in the acceptance letter.

It is the AHA CPR for Healthcare Providers that we need - you might be able to do Red Cross (I think theirs is called CPR for the Professional Rescuer) but I had called the school and they said the AHA one was fine. I got my certification last year at MasterTrain (http://mastertrain.8m.com/CPR.htm). The class was good, and I think it was about $40.

Congrats the Fall of 09 people!

If you have questions shout em out and i will do my best to answer :-p

AznPlayR99 I'm taking you up on your offer...do you know of any good/safe/affordable places to live

thx!

Define your price range..

Define good b/c there are places that are close to school but look old but alot of students live there...

I only know of places within a 5ish minute drive sense i live in the medical center haha...

lol @ "places within a 5ish minute drive"

I've only been to SA once and that was to do the interview and take the TEAS. I dont think communting everday from Virginia is going to work out for me  so I really appreciate you help on this! :-)

price range really does not matter. and by "good" i mean not in a bad neighborhood or bad part of town. Since I'm not familar with the area and I will be living by myself, this is a biggie for me.

I was looking at "villas at medical center" or "The Abbey at Grande Oaks" do you have any insight on those two places?

you said there are places that are close to school but look old but alot of students live there....what places are those?

thanks so much!

Haha Aite...

Well its finals week so let me have a couple of days... for this reply? I drive by some places alot and i never figure to learn the names haha...

Yeah I mean I live in the medical center but when i found an apt I really didn't drive around too look at other places.. I mean i saw some but I was like damn it why didn't i see that before haha plus my price range was like mid 500's so it was limited and i wanted it to be a really close drive to the med center since i hate driving...

Umm "The Villas at Medical Center" are pretty nice I have a friend that lives there in a 3 bed 2 bath she loves it other than maybe the thin walls haha (but for the most part all apts have thin walls). It's a gated complex and i think they have town homes also. Umm it comes with a washer and dryer which is awesome b/c i hate driving to do my laundry at some other place. Its about a 5 minute or less drive to school! haha... (not sure on the 1bd price.... id say probably high 700's or low 800's... 3bd 2 bath is like 1300)

I have 2 friends that live in San Antonio Station

http://www.sastation.com/index.aspx

They are a bit older looking but its LITERALLY across the street from school!

No where near as nice looking as "The Villas at medical center" though...

Don't know if they have washers/dryers in the apt but they have a building for it haha...

Lots of students from school live here since its across the street... (1 bedroom like $750 for 750sq ft)

I'll get back 2 you with some more..
