Hey guys, just wanted to begin a thread for all UT Health SON hopefuls who are applying for Spring 2016. I look forward to getting to know all of you as we begin to play what seems to be the longest waiting game ever! I am more than confident that each and every one of us will be receiving our acceptance letters around this same time next year:) Feel free to share anything regarding the application process and/or ask any questions that you may have!
There is a calculator on the testing computer that you can use. You can't bring your own unfortunately. I found it annoying having to scroll back and forth to get to the calculator, but it was better than nothing at all! You also get a small whiteboard and pen to use as scratch paper.
As for difficulty, I didn't think any of the sections were overly difficult, but I guess it depends on where your strengths are. Math was pretty straightforward as long you know your conversions and basic multiplication, addition, division, etc. (there were also two questions about military time...), critical thinking tended to be a "take your best guess" for each scenario but I did that and scored pretty well, and A&P was pretty fair too. Nothing too specific. I haven't taken A&P II yet, only reviewed my notes the day before, and got an 84. Hope that helps! :)
How do they know if you are going to take a class for the fall semester? All I need is my philosophy class.
Hi 147nately. They won't, unless you have registered for the fall class prior to submitting your transcript from that school in which you are enrolled for during the fall. They will just expect that you have every course completed prior to admission for the Spring 2016. Hope that answers your question.
Also, what email did you guys use to find out about evaluations? I'm concerned my philosophy class from UT Dallas won't transfer....
Here is an email address you can send to: [email protected]
Hi everyone!
I just spent the last half hour reading this whole thread, I am so glad there is one finally up! I didn't think it had been that long since I had last checked for one.
I'm feeling a little intimidated by everyone's AWESOME stats and the fact that most of you have already finished your app!
I just finished taking Chemistry and Nutrition during summer I at HCC, and will be taking my HESI next Monday, July 20th! I am pretty nervous as I have just started the study guide, but I'm going to study my butt off until then!
Glad to join you guys,
I'll post my stats once I take my HESI. (Question: Do you know your score right away once you take it?)

Geeez 500 scores?! That's crazy. Thanks so much @Spagh3tti glad to know it wasn't a mistake on our end.
