UTHSC (Houston) Spring

Published

This thread is dedicated to the applicants of UT Houston's Spring 2012 application period. I've seen various threads posted throughout the discussion forum regarding the upcoming application period, but they are scattered and hard to keep track of. Maybe if we keep our discussion in one place it will be easier for us all to follow :)

I'm applying with the following stats:

Pre-req GPA: 3.21

Science GPA: 3.66

Overall GPA: 2.81

I know my chances of getting in aren't great with my overall GPA, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed anyway! Please post your stats, your thoughts, your experiences, ideas and opinions here:)

Good luck to everyone!!

I did not ask for one. In the past the only time I received these evaluation of my transcripts is when I sent them an updated transcript.

On a second note, I received my acceptance packet from PV A&M today. I have until Nov 14th to return my paperwork with the intent to attend. :yeah:

Just need to hear from UT-H now.

I asked for the one that they sent me last week because I had not been sent one at all, but this one just came randomly.

I don't think that it's a bad thing if you have or have not gotten one, katybusymom. They already sent out rejection letters to the people that weren't going to be considered, now it's a process of elimination between people who meet the requirements. If I remember correctly, your pre-req gpa, science gpa, and hesi score were all really good, right, just not your overall? If that's the case, you're probably going to get in.

Katysbusymom, I agree with taylor. Try not to worry about little details that have no significance in whether or not you're getting accepted. If you sent them your transcript, they definitely have it regardless of whether or not you received a recent evaluation. Plus, you haven't been pre-eliminated so all you can do is wait a little longer.

I was really disappointed the admissions council failed to come to a decision last week. I had high hopes for it considering Fall 2011 found out so quickly. Nov 1 would be the next date on the calendar of hope so I'm just trying to think about that.

@taylorxteddy, I have gotten a transcript eval in the past, just not recently.......but I also haven't had a reason to get one because I've been taking classes and Stats and Nutrition just ended. With the addition of those two classes it brings my pre-req gpa up to a 3.344, science gpa 3.50 and overall gpa to a 2.893. I just started Lifespan and it doesn't end until Dec. 14th, which is my last pre-req.

I sure hope you are right about getting in. I'm seriously about to lose my mind and I'm driving my family crazy too. My husband actually asked me if I had picked out the classes I was going to take to graduate next semester if I didn't get in. Then he said, "oh no....I didn't mean it like that...." My whole house is on edge!!

Ok I am now looking out for one

Hi all, I have been lurking for a while now, but I am officially losing it so I decided to post. :D

How do you know that rejection letters have already been sent out? Did I miss something? I did receive a transcript eval in the mail yesterday too. I am so extremely nervous. This weekend is going to be a so stressful waiting for Tuesday. I can only hope that we know something by then.

All u guests out there new to sgin up and join the conversation!

Just got back from the mailbox..no new transcript evaluation. It will be a very long weekend!!!!! I may have to clean the whole house to keep busy!!!!

goingnutsalready, They sent out rejection letters earlier to those that did not meet the minimum qualifications for the program or did not get all of their stuff in on time. So, the rest of us are still waiting (rather impatiently on my part!) to hear if we got in or not. Hopefully, we all will know by November 1! :D

I haven't received another transcript evaluation this week, but I already have three from them! I wouldn't worry about it y'all.

I asked for the one that they sent me last week because I had not been sent one at all, but this one just came randomly.

Hey Taylow - how do you know that they have already sent out rejection letters? Just curious. I guess I need a reason to feel better about myself ;) ... I haven't been rejected yet...

so I have only received transcript evaluation letter once, the beginning of September. What does that mean ?!?! I'm psyching myself out now! Do you guys think it means anything?

I don't think it means anything at all! I got one after they received my first transcript and one after they received my second transcript. They didn't count one of my classes as a prereq (I took some classes out of state) so I had to submit a course description and syllabus for them. They accepted this and so they sent me out a third evaluation with that class added as a prereq. So as long as your transcript evaluation was correct the first time, there's no reason for them to send you another one!
