This thread is dedicated to the applicants of UT Houston's Spring 2012 application period. I've seen various threads posted throughout the discussion forum regarding the upcoming application period, but they are scattered and hard to keep track of. Maybe if we keep our discussion in one place it will be easier for us all to follow :)
I'm applying with the following stats:
Pre-req GPA: 3.21
Science GPA: 3.66
Overall GPA: 2.81
I know my chances of getting in aren't great with my overall GPA, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed anyway! Please post your stats, your thoughts, your experiences, ideas and opinions here:)
Just got home from work, hoping there was an update. FFS, you'd think they'd have some answers by now. Ugh. I'm going to pretend the registrar's office just got a list today, they're currently updating it online and we'll see it on our UTlink tomorrow..
oh, i second the whole "utmb tries to help you". a certain someone i know failed (got a 74) in a class. the dean and a few profs met with her in order to find out WHY, what she should do to not fail again and when she could retake the class. she didn't end up failing another class after that and told me how awesome it was to have the support she did.
Great!! So we worry ourselves to death trying to get in to school there, and then they want to weed you out before you can even get settled?!?! Now I'm even more stressed!
What frustrates me is that when you factor in holidays, we're realistically only going to get about a month to get everything together, including funding, drug/background checks, etc! That is what's freaking me out, because if/when I get my letter, I'm going to be running in circles.
i wonder if they hgave good finacial aid. but you cannot file with ut till u have been accepedt but at that time you cant change your fasfa..... what do we do?
they never notified students this late, even when they did have interviews they let people know by the end of october, las spring found out by the 20th
I'm finishing up some prereqs this semester at Lonestar, and I'm not positive but I think I remember the financial aid office telling me that they could transfer the remaining amount of my 2011/2012 fafsa to UT. So, if any of you already did your fafsa somewhere else for this Fall and Spring 2012, you may want to check with your current school.
Either way, I'm worried about the rest of it just as much. Especially the immunizations! Plus I will be out of the country for two weeks at the end of December! AAGGHHH!
I have been skulking around the forum for about a week now soaking in all the great info you have shared! I also applied for Spring 2012 and am going absolutely bonkers waiting to hear if I've been accepted! :uhoh21:
