This thread is dedicated to the applicants of UT Houston's Spring 2012 application period. I've seen various threads posted throughout the discussion forum regarding the upcoming application period, but they are scattered and hard to keep track of. Maybe if we keep our discussion in one place it will be easier for us all to follow :)
I'm applying with the following stats:
Pre-req GPA: 3.21
Science GPA: 3.66
Overall GPA: 2.81
I know my chances of getting in aren't great with my overall GPA, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed anyway! Please post your stats, your thoughts, your experiences, ideas and opinions here:)
Good luck to everyone!!
hey guys! i'm new to this site and just thought i would add my stats to the roll and wait here anxiously with everyone else. i am nervous and find myself compulsively checking between web sites and forums...when will this be over!? any one hear of a first round of acceptance letters?

Hi Everyone,
It has been a tough road to get into nursing school. Sleepless nights and hardcore studying has left us with a nervous twitch, but our hardwork will be rewarded. Although, we haven't seen our admission status change we can rest assured that we've done all we can to shine above the rest. I really want to thank each and everyone one of you on this thread for sticking together. I've really seen some awesome people on this thread that have shared information with the rest of us. I am glad to have spent this journey with all of you out there. Thank you for sharing the wealth of information and bringing together a band of die hard students. I feel at ease knowing that there is a special comradery students will have once we all enter nursing school. Goodluck to everyone.
On my UT Link, it states "TSI TEST/EXEMPT GROUP: Not Received."
Does anyone else have this on their UT Link?
(This information is on everyone's college transcript, so I'm not sure why my UT Link says that they received my transcripts and have my updated GPA, but not my exemption from the College Entrance Exam?)
I called UTHSC Admissions today and they said not to worry about it. But something just tells me that my application shouldn't say "Your file is incomplete. Some admission documents are not yet on file."
Thanks!
Hey guys! It's been a busy week for us at UT! Two tests last week and one tomorrow at 7am. I scanned the last few pages and it doesn't look like there are too many unanswered questions, but let me know if you have any.
RE: "Your file is incomplete. Some admission documents are not yet on file." - That's totally normal. If you've sent in all the required stuff don't worry. You can call the Registrar if you'd like to verify receipt, but don't worry if nothing on your UTLink changes. If I remember correctly, my UTLink didn't change to "Your file is complete" until sometime after I was granted admission. It might not even change until you complete all you Holds, but I'm not sure.
Your HESI won't show the scores- it will just say "Not received" or "Official document on file." I think my HESI changed to "On file" only a day or 2 before I was admitted. The reason for the delay is that the Registrar is responsible for updating UTLink but the HESI scores are sent directly to the SON. Sometimes communication gets a little slow when they're both busy.

yep mine says incomplete the resgistrar and nursing admissions say not to worry about it
Mine says the same thing. I called too. They told me not to worry about it and they would update everything in due time.........ugh
Hey guys,
I have been reading this for a while now but I haven't posted before. Anyway, I had the same message on my utlink about 2/3 of my transcripts not being on file. I was worried about that so I called. Turns out they never received them (I sent them back in July)! This was last Friday that I found this out so they should be getting them in sometime this week, I just hope it's not too late! But I think its always best to just call the registrar and make sure!

Katy, I know what you mean. My bf said, the next time you even think about surfing allnurses, I want you to do 10 push-ups instead :icon_roll. I have spent hours on this site looking at other UTHSC boards and I realized most people on allnurses were accepted to the program in previous semesters. The very fact that we are even on a site called "all nurses" means we have the passion and are most likely going to be accepted.
With that said, it's now the last day of September!! A month or less (probably less) and we'll know for sure! :yelclap:
