UTHSC (Houston) Spring

Published

This thread is dedicated to the applicants of UT Houston's Spring 2012 application period. I've seen various threads posted throughout the discussion forum regarding the upcoming application period, but they are scattered and hard to keep track of. Maybe if we keep our discussion in one place it will be easier for us all to follow :)

I'm applying with the following stats:

Pre-req GPA: 3.21

Science GPA: 3.66

Overall GPA: 2.81

I know my chances of getting in aren't great with my overall GPA, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed anyway! Please post your stats, your thoughts, your experiences, ideas and opinions here:)

Good luck to everyone!!

@tuttie, I'm curious to know how are you eligible to apply for the accelerated program and you're only 20. You already have a bachelors degree?

Someone said there were 1600 applications for the Spring this year.

I skipped many years of high school

I have a biology degree

wow that's impressive. I'm sure you'll have no problem getting into the program!

Thank you! but i'm still concerned:confused:

... well if thats the case then why do you think I got denied? I'm happy for you but they have to take age into consideration. I have perfect everything almost except for a low CT score on the HESI. Even if they take that part seriously everything else is perfect almost. It'd be so wrong of them to just focus on one area I messed up on. Maybe you can give me a good explanation because no one else can. Familiy, friends, even NURSES I know are suprised I got denied.

To be completely honest with you I have no clue why you did not get accepted. I don't want to throw off false misconceptions and make other people think that they aren't getting accepted for a certain thing. I just wanted to let you know that I'm only 19 and got accepted. I don't really think anybody will know how they select. Your best bet is to personally email the school and ask to make sure.

It was an 800. Wow that is very impressive that you have a degree at such a young age! I think you won't have a problem getting in either :)

@ariel are you going for the traditional track or accelerated? And when are you applying for?

the traditional track and i have been accepted for spring 2012

ohh very exciting! Hopefully you can give us some insight to the program once you've started. I know you'll be busy for the first few months until you get into a lingo but I've been searching for some real info about the program. So hopefully you'll let us know when you get the time.
