UTHSC (Houston) Spring

Published

This thread is dedicated to the applicants of UT Houston's Spring 2012 application period. I've seen various threads posted throughout the discussion forum regarding the upcoming application period, but they are scattered and hard to keep track of. Maybe if we keep our discussion in one place it will be easier for us all to follow :)

I'm applying with the following stats:

Pre-req GPA: 3.21

Science GPA: 3.66

Overall GPA: 2.81

I know my chances of getting in aren't great with my overall GPA, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed anyway! Please post your stats, your thoughts, your experiences, ideas and opinions here:)

Good luck to everyone!!

It was an 800. Wow that is very impressive that you have a degree at such a young age! I think you won't have a problem getting in either :)

Excellent score! and thank you:)

got my denial letter today, feels very good to have closure, i wish the best to the rest of you!

For those who got accepted for spring 2012 Generic program; I was wondering if you have turn in the pre-enrollment requirements...

Roxy are you on FB? We have tons of info on the page (check the docs on the top) and a bunch of current students helping us out on there. Search UTHSC SON Class of May 2013

jadeanjet thank you! I am going to a friends request

Congratulations to everyone that has gotten accepted and for those of you that did not...keep your head up, you all had really good scores and it seems like they had a lot of qualified applicants to pick from. I firmly believe in "everything happens for a reason" and something else is meant for you or at another time. :)

I'm sure that doesn't make those feel that much better but that is the mom in me!

****on another note, I'm in the process of getting all my requirements for the Fall 2012 application deadline and I'm taking the HESI this Saturday... I took it once before at Lone Star and got 89% overall score but I have been studying my study guide endlessly. I haven't taken the CT portion yet and it seems like UT looks at this closely, so, does anyone have any helpful info about the CT portion?? I would appreciate any feedback!

CT is kind of hard to study for. They're "what would you do?" situations. Pick the answer you feel is appropriate, there is no right answer. All the answers are weighted differently, so there is a "best" answer however.

Keep in mind that UT only allows one retake of the HESI and you have to pass all sections with 75% or greater. Make sure you're ready before you take it. It sounds like you're going to do great though! :)

does anyone know if pathophysiology will transfer over to ut houston if im taking it now .... i dont think it will but its worth the try

@Ariel007: where are you taking the phatophysiology class? I want to take it too, but not sure if I can take it?? Are u taking your class at lone star?

taking it at sanjac ... hcc and lonestar require u to me in their nursing program

Yes... I think so becuase I can only take parmacology before the nursing program but not phatophysiology. As I know lone star don't need pathophysiology for their program...

Pathophysiology or Pharmacology won't transfer to UT. You have to take them during the program.
