Hello everyone, I wanted to create a forum for the UTHSC BSN Spring 2017 applicants. I plan to apply to this program, TWU, UTA, Lamar, and SHSU after I finish my pre-reqs this summer. Also, I still have to take the Hesi and Teas test this summer as well. I have attended three colleges throughout my college career and do not have the best GPA at either one of them. The school I am currently attending my stats are as follows:

Overall GPA: 2.5

Pre-Req GPA: 3.5

Science GPA: 4.0

I'm going to retake it next month after I've completed A&P 1 and 2 and studied a lot more. I'm praying that I get at least 85% or higher in each section next time around. I hate that I have to retake the whole test even though I only failed one section!

I know it sucks, but I also failed it my first time taking the HESSI (2 years ago). I studied and the next time I took it I passed with a good score! My husband helped make mnemonics for the math conversions and also for the A&P portions! Remember to have faith and study! You can do this!!

Does anyone know when the deadline is to take the hesi?

I am not sure of there is a deadline, but I know everything has to be turned in by August 15th.

Thanks! I've taken it before and gotten good scores but didn't get in.

What I'm worried about is my GPA

Prereqs 3.2

Science 3.0

Has anyone heard of anybody getting in with such low gpa but with good HESI scores?

Why dont you look on past forums? I have seen cases like that, but in other schools. I actually have only seen one that got in at Sam with a 3.2. Are you taking any summer courses to try and boost your GPA? What was your HESSI score if you dont mind me asking

I am taking it at the end of the month. It has been 2 years since I took it so I'm having to e-take it.

Last time I got a 92 overall, 890 CT, 100 math, 90 A&P.

I have looked on past forums but haven't really found anyone with similar stats

Wow that's a great score! I would try to apply anyway. I see it like this - the worse that can happen is they say no & then you try again. Good luck to you! I am sure it will work out for you

Does anyone know why I cannot register to take the HESI in July? It is only giving me the April-June option and there are no seats available in June anymore. Do I have to wait until July to register?

I was wondering the same thing, you may have to take the Hesi for another school and just have your scores transferred to UT.
