UTHSC BSN Spring 2017

Hello everyone, I wanted to create a forum for the UTHSC BSN Spring 2017 applicants. I plan to apply to this program, TWU, UTA, Lamar, and SHSU after I finish my pre-reqs this summer. Also, I still have to take the Hesi and Teas test this summer as well. I have attended three colleges throughout my college career and do not have the best GPA at either one of them. The school I am currently attending my stats are as follows:

Overall GPA: 2.5

Pre-Req GPA: 3.5

Science GPA: 4.0

I'm also applying to UTHSC, UTA and TWU-Dallas for spring 2017.

Stats:

Overall: 3.66 (BS in Health)

Prereq: around 3.6

Science: 3.5

I'm taking the HESI next week.

Good luck!!

Wow, your stats are awesome! I'm scheduled to take the Teas exam on May 30 and the Hesi exam on June 10. Studying for both test is literally killing me. Good luck on the Hesi, leave a comment to let me know it goes!

Hi all! I just finished filling out my application! I am so excited, hopeful and nervous! I'm suprised the form hasn't been so active. Good luck to both of you!

How exciting! There is another forum with a similar heading so I guess it's hard to decide which one to comment on. Do your mind sharing your stats?

Strange, I couldn't find the other form. Do you know the name? I'm really not sure what my stats are. It is my second degree and it has been many years of taking pre reqs very slowly. hesi was 92 and 850 for CT, But I think I have to retake it since i took it almost two years ago.

I would definitely call them or email the nursing advisor to see if your scores will still be accepted. If I scored that well on the test, I would not want to retake it! I believe the other forum is UTHealth Nursing Spring 2017. What is your pre-req and nursing gpa?

I emailed them a few days ago, but I have not gotten a response. I really have no interest in retaking the Hesi. I'd have to start re memorizing all those A&P parts, such a nightmare, but at the same time I really don't want to take any chances.

I found the other form, thank you. My degree GPA was 3.58. Not sure what the nursing and pre req would be sepratly but I'd assume it's around the 3.5 as well.

Found some info on their website on their website. Hesi scores are only good for 2 years, so you just may have to retake the exam. Double check your dates, you just might be right at your 2 year mark.

Ya, I am trying to clarify with them. I sent another email to a different address. I took the exam July 14, 2014, so it is really unclear. It could go either way.

Well technically, your 2 year mark will be July 14th of this year so as long as you apply with the scores before the 2 year mark, they should be accepted. I hope it all goes well for you. I'm super stressed about taking the Hesi this weekend!

I just took the HESI yesterday! I got a 91.6% overal and 870 CT.

Math: 98

reading: 94

grammar: 90

vocab: 100

A&P: 76

I'm so worried about my A&P score. I don't know how in depth they look at each section or just overall.

For those about to take it.... Study ratios for math! That made up about 1/2 of the questions. Vocab was from the study book, same as grammar, math, and reading. Anatomy was random. I suggest studying the basics of EVERY BODY SYSTEM. including the ear.

If if you studied for the TEAS and then the HESI you will be very well prepared.
