UTHSC BSN Spring 2017

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello everyone, I wanted to create a forum for the UTHSC BSN Spring 2017 applicants. I plan to apply to this program, TWU, UTA, Lamar, and SHSU after I finish my pre-reqs this summer. Also, I still have to take the Hesi and Teas test this summer as well. I have attended three colleges throughout my college career and do not have the best GPA at either one of them. The school I am currently attending my stats are as follows:

Overall GPA: 2.5

Pre-Req GPA: 3.5

Science GPA: 4.0

I just took the HESI yesterday! I got a 91.6% overal and 870 CT.

Math: 98

reading: 94

grammar: 90

vocab: 100

A&P: 76

I'm so worried about my A&P score. I don't know how in depth they look at each section or just overall.

For those about to take it.... Study ratios for math! That made up about 1/2 of the questions. Vocab was from the study book, same as grammar, math, and reading. Anatomy was random. I suggest studying the basics of EVERY BODY SYSTEM. including the ear.

If if you studied for the TEAS and then the HESI you will be very well prepared.

Good luck with the Hesi futureRNMelanie! It will be stressful until you finally finish. Sending you good vibes.

Overall you did really great sikamikanico. I do see your concern over the A&P section. It does seem like they look at the applicants bigger picture though, and your Hesi looks great! Lots of luck!

Thank you so much

Good job on the Hesi, hopefully I score just as high on all the sections.

Hi, I am also applying.

Have any of you applied before?

I plan on applying after I take the Hesi this weekend. I still have to take A&P II, Micro, and Chem before the Spring nursing semester starts. Hopefully not having my pre-reqs done by the application deadline will not hinder my acceptance.

I applied 2 years ago and didn't get in. I finished my pre-reqs and enrolled in other science and non science classes to be able to increase my overall GPA. I got a 94 on the HESI but it is 2 years old so I have to retake it.

Oh no, that sucks you have to retake it. But you passed the first time so I'm sure you'll do fine the next time. Wish me luck, I'm taking my test tomorrow!

Yes, I applied before, also two years ago for spring, 2014. My Hesi will be two years old in July. They did take my Hesi off the to do list so I am hoping it means I don't need to retake it.

Just took my Hesi exam and I didn't pass with best score. I am completely devastated right now! Unfortunately,- I'll be retaking the exam. Anyways, my scores are as follows:

Reading-82%

Grammar-94%

Vocabulary-82

Math-78%

A&P-36

Critical Thinking-790

I am so sorry! but don't feel that way! You never know what they are looking for and what the average stats are for this particular application pool.

Can you re-take it immediately or do you have to wait?
