UTH Cizik School of Nursing Spring 2021 (Pacesetter)

Hi everyone! I found this forum last night and figured I would create this for anyone who wants to discuss the pacesetter program for Spring 2021. The application deadline will be here before we know it! I will be taking courses at San Jac this Summer to finish my pre-reqs ( a lot of the unfortunately ). Hope everyone is staying safe and taking this time to prepare as much as possible. I had been volunteering at Methodist but unfortunately that has ceased for now. Post anything you’d like here!

Hi Evelyn. I was thinking that I had in fact been denied. And if that's the case, then I can accept it. It wouldn't be the answer I was hoping for. But, it is what it is.

I know that there are a lot of excellent candidates who applied and that there are only so many seats available. But, it would be nice to have an official answer in some form at this point.

I know this Covid-19 thing has slowed everything down. But, I don't see why we ALL don't have an official answer by now. The people who have been denied worked on their education and paid to apply just like everyone else.

Hi! I was also waitlisted.  Have you heard anything yet?

Oh sorry to hear that! Don't give up! I was denied last fall. 

 I was also waitlisted but I did not receive an email yet? Did you happen to get an email last week in regards to the fingerprinting/ background check?

Also, did your status change in the UT portal?

I was waitlisted as well but haven’t received an email. This is my second time being waitlisted and third time applying.

There are two ways to create a special area for your cohort, that are Terms-of-Service approved.

One is to create a facebook page.  This link is allowed to be posted.

  The other is to create a "Club" within the site, by clicking on the Breakroom link (upper left-hand corner, in the yellow bar) and in the green area, click Start a Breakroom Club.

 Any other references or links posted are not TOS-approved, and will be removed.

No, I did not get any email regarding fingerprinting. Yes, my status in the portal also changed to denied.

Veec, SavyxN, and others who got off the waitlist, can you please share your stats. My overall GPA is 3.6, pre-req GPA is 3.9 and science GPA is 4.0. I made an 89.6 overall on the HESI exam. I also received a course evaluation from UT health.
