Just wanted to start a forum to see if there are any other nursing student applicants for the Fall semester? I just applied, although, I know I will not get a response until beginning of April. I was so excited since I just finished my HESI. I had to retake it since I did not take Vocab. the first time I took it? . Anyways, I really pray I get in for August so I can get started and not need to take any additional classes for other schools. My friend got in for Spring 2019 and she is loving it. I have really been fighting to get here for a VERY LONG TIME
So does cumulative gpa actually count? Because the cumulative gpa for UTH does not factor in the highest grade for classes you retook. Also, on the website, it says that it focuses on the nursing prerequisites gpa (take highest grade), science prerequisites gpa (takes highest grade), and the Hesi. So I don’t see why they would focus on the cumulative gpa, when they don’t mention it as a factor of decision.
Here's the criteria they claim to use... even though they don't accept most of the stuff they say they use to make a decision. No LORs, no personal statement, no interview, no volunteer experience, no certifications- just employment, grades, and HESI.

The Pacesetter BSN Program is one of the most competitive admissions programs at the Cizik School of Nursing. The review process includes a careful review of all documents required including your transcripts and HESI scores. Each component of your application is reviewed including your overall cumulative GPA, HESI scores (with special emphasis on scores in Anatomy and Physiology), and grades earned in sciences and the regular prerequisites.
The admissions committee at the School of Nursing are charged with creating the admission requirements and reviewing all completed applications. Their careful review will determine students who are admitted, waitlisted and those denied. All students who are not admitted may reapply for admission for a future term without penalty.”
Cumulative GPA factors in every grade on your transcript, from every college you’ve been to.
Just previously in this thread, I was talking about my stats and being waitlisted for Summer. Cumulative GPA is most certainly taken into consideration. And as to what gets weighted the most each cycle, it probably depends on the competitive nature of the current applicant pool.

Of course they look at your cumulative GPA. There's not much else to look at. They may focus on the prerequisites, but they most certainly look at your overall numbers. Due to the sheer amount of applicants, the fact that they don't take personal statements, or any of the other things other schools look at, they have no choice but to look at all your numbers.
For fall 2018 they sent out acceptances on May 30 and fall 2017 it was May 24 I believe. The 24th or the 22nd. So basically it could be soon or we might still have a bit to wait lol.

Lol yea the thread has been so quiet but I’ve been on other forums looking up dates. I’ve even been on forums that have nothing to do with UTH or even Texas lol. I think I’m just addicted to the forums lol. Seeing people’s happiness when they get into their schools. I want it to be usssssss lol
