UTH Cizik School of Nursing BSN Pacesetter- Fall 2019

Published

Hey everyone?!

Just wanted to start a forum to see if there are any other nursing student applicants for the Fall semester? I just applied, although, I know I will not get a response until beginning of April. I was so excited since I just finished my HESI. I had to retake it since I did not take Vocab. the first time I took it? . Anyways, I really pray I get in for August so I can get started and not need to take any additional classes for other schools. My friend got in for Spring 2019 and she is loving it. I have really been fighting to get here for a VERY LONG TIME

I really can't wait. Good luck to everyone! ?

That’s cray. I actually know someone that got in with lower stats than you. Like an 80 on the HESI and a 3.80 GPA. And I’ve know previous graduates that got accepted with 80s on the HESI and imperfect GPAs. Plus I was told by a friend (who’s currently in the Spring batch) that they accepted 134 students when they should only accept 120ish. So there’s always hope.

A 3.8 overall GPA?

Not sure about overall but they don’t have any previous degrees or anything. So maybe overall since they’ve only worked on nursing credits

Yeah that would be higher than mine, so that doesn't surprise me that they got in.

Yeah, so bummed I didn't get called. It tells me they absolutely look at overall GPA/transcript. My pre-nursing GPA is a 3.88, my Science GPA is a 4.0, and I got a 92.4 HESI overall with a 100 on the A&P section. I received a Transcript Evaluation for that application cycle as well (still had/have classes in progress). But my overall GPA is a 3.4 because of older classes from years ago. That definitely weighed me down. I feel like since I didn't get in to Summer (the "easiest" time of year), then I realistically have a very slim chance for getting into Fall (the "hardest" time of year). Here's to hoping though!

Ah such a bummer :( I am in a similar boat and it really does suck to work so hard and still be weighed down by the past.

But it seems clear that you are a stellar applicant. 100 on the A&P section is no joke! I'm sure you'll find a great school if you don't get in this fall.

With this your stat, i think you'd have better chances than me.? but it doesn't work that way. My sister's friend got in with 3.5 overall while my sis had 3.8, so i would say #luck counts too.

I have already started researching about spring admission just in case i don't get a chance

Make sure you are applying to ALL programs that you qualify for! You are all VERY qualified and will get into a program, at the end of the day we will all be BSN, RN no matter what school name was on the building. Don't short sell yourself and apply everywhere!

Good Morning! So for those who applied to HBU do You need the critical thinking section of the HESI? And can I still apply if I have not taken any classes at HBU except 1?? (Becuz I’ll need to take the intro to Christianity class)

You have to take the critical thinking section of the HESI. I sent them my scores and they rejected them because it lacked that part.

It looks like last year they didn't send acceptances until May 31st, really hoping that's not the case this year.

And I’m assuming it can’t be taken separate right?
