UTA BSN SPRING 2018

Published

Hi everyone, so i decided to go ahead and open up a forum for the 2018 spring start date. I know it might be early but hey everyone including me will have questions and become quite worried on getting in.

seems like forever!

Hey guys, I've been following this thread for a while, finally made an account to comment haha. I also applied for the online AO BSN for spring 2018 admission. My stats are

HESI: 94

OVerall gpa: 3.8

Science: 4.0

Considerations: precious degree from UTA and 300 more hours of science pre reqs from UTA. I'm not partnered. I'm super nervous and so ready to just know already. Good luck to everyone, hopefully we will know in the coming weeks.

Definitely meant 30! Not 300!

is anyone taking patho and pharm this semester? I also wonder how much longer we have for a decision.

If anything like last year we have about 2 weeks before hearing anything. Good luck with Patho & Pharm...I took them nearly 2 years ago.

thanks @Brandon. I dont know why i took them together. Im just hoping for the best.

It's possible, but I highly recommend against it unless you have some sort of medical background going in.

Well yeah I'm taking them both now, I have faith I'll pass... plus I work at md Anderson and I have wonderful nurses as coworkers who help me

Working in the medical field and having coworkers support you will be fine. I have zero medical background, but luckily we formed a study group here in Houston that had 5 or 6 of us meeting at least once a week for several hours. Without the study group there is no doubt I would have failed patho.

I tried to get people here in Houston to do a study group but no one is budging í ½í¸ª

Do you worry about doing clinicals with no medical background? I'm worried that most others will have more experience in the setting than me (also no medical background).

Not at all. UTA is the only program that requires patho prior to getting accepted out of the 8 programs I've applied to. Yes it's a weed out class to make sure you can handle nursing school, but I'm convinced it's just as much a money grab on their part.
