Hello, all!
I am currently preparing to apply for both the BSN (on campus) and AO BSN programs at UTA, to begin in the Fall of 2019 - I am also applying to TWU's program, as well as two ADN programs.
So far, the only question I have is can I begin taking the Pre-Nursing courses (Intro, Pharm, Patho) after the application deadline? I believe I've read that I can, but I just want to be sure. I am still in the process of completing a few pre-requisite courses and might not get to these in time for the application deadline. Thanks in advance!
Best of luck to everyone!
**UPDATE**
I found the answer to my question, sorry!
Fall '19 applicants (or anyone) feel free to add general comments/questions!
I'm just in Pharm at the moment. I found out about acceptance in September and I start the program in January. The only advice I have this far is to look up the checklist for applying and do everything on it (immunizations, titers, etc) they will ask for this the moment you're accepted, if you can't provide everything they will take you off the accepted list. And join the UTA CONHI Facebook page, I wish I would have found it sooner.
I had 3.8 science GPA and 3.3 other GPA, 2 considerations, and I'm partnered. It truly depends on your applicant pool though and partnership gives you a significant advantage, however there are plenty that get in that aren't partnered.
I'm not sure about stating clinical sites on the application... we didn't do that on ours. Our application asked if we were partnered and if so, with which facility and that's it.
Once you get in they will email you a clinical preference form 2-3 weeks after acceptance and that's where you choose which locations you want.. unless they are changing things for the next semester :)
Hey there. I'm going to apply for the AO Program with a Fall 2019 start date. I read that you can apply after you completed 3 of the 4 natural sciences which I did over the summer. I only have A/P II left. Anyone know the best time to apply? Also, anyone know if admissions are rolling or if they wait until after the January deadline to evaluate applications?
They changed this. You have to have all four natural sciences to be able to apply now.
Hello,
I am applying for the On-Campus Program Fall 2019
Overall GPA: 4.00
Science GPA: 4.00
No considerations though because I took all my classes in TCC.
I have final exams the next 3 days for Microbiology, Anatomy and Physiology II, and Intro. to Nursing (Taking this in UTA). The only one I am worried about is Intro to Nursing I am borderline 89.6% right now. I need to make an A on the Comprehensive Final Exam in order to get an A in the class... My final exam is tomorrow so if I dont get an A in this class and I end up with a B my gpa will become
Overall GPA: 3.9
Science GPA: 4.00
*But no considerations
I am worried that I will not get in the program because so many people have piled considerations up... Alot of people also have a GPA of 3.5 +3.2 but have like 3 considerations!! So that immediately puts them on a higher level than me

How did your final go? :)
When I read BWalker12's post some time ago, I contacted my pcp to get my titer tests and my TB test. I got a DpT booster that made a huge swollen red place on my arm. It was sore a few days and went away eventually. I was not immune to Heb B and had to restart the series.
If you haven't been tested yet and are accepted, I hope they will allow you to get the vaccs while you are in upper levels because it takes months to complete them. I got one in November, the second in December then you wait two months for the third, which for me is February 20, and then get titer test again.
And yes, do join the UTA CONHI facebook.
I am still nervous that I won't get in. I am already behind graduating because of change of majors 2 years ago.
What do people do for the semester if they don't get in for fall? I am complete on all lower pre req's after this semester and had just made it into Honors in the Business school when I changed majors. Do I spend more money taking classes and apply again? Do I take classes that are on the easy spectrum to improve my overall GPA and work for a partnered hospital?
How do I find out who the partnered hospitals are?
I am trying not to stress about this. I have worked really, really hard. I think I am pretty competitive with my GPA and 2 considerations of all sciences done at UTA and 50+ graded hours at UTA but know there are so many sitting with higher points than me.
When will decisions for Fall 19 be released?
@TXNurse97 Nice! I applied for online. UTA is the only school I applied to also.
There's that faq video somewhere on their website that addresses how many seats are available. I was listening to it while I was waiting in the advising office recently. I think it said 160ish, but I don't know if I'm remembering that correctly.
