Hello, all!
I am currently preparing to apply for both the BSN (on campus) and AO BSN programs at UTA, to begin in the Fall of 2019 - I am also applying to TWU's program, as well as two ADN programs.
So far, the only question I have is can I begin taking the Pre-Nursing courses (Intro, Pharm, Patho) after the application deadline? I believe I've read that I can, but I just want to be sure. I am still in the process of completing a few pre-requisite courses and might not get to these in time for the application deadline. Thanks in advance!
Best of luck to everyone!
**UPDATE**
I found the answer to my question, sorry!
Fall '19 applicants (or anyone) feel free to add general comments/questions!
Hey guys! I'm applying for Fall 2019 on-campus BSN! I have a question if anyone can help me out by answering! I am planning to take Psych and Developmental Psych this fall (2018) before starting my application. I was wondering if we need to finish developmental psychology before applying or we can take it in the spring (post-application)? Thank you!
Hi future nurses, current UTA AOBSN student here. I just want encourage you as you apply and wait for acceptance. The UTA program has been transformative for me and it is very popular. The best way to get a spot is to be employed by one of the partner hospitals. That moves you to the front of the line for acceptance. Those hospitals change every application period, and you typically have to be employed for a full year before you have partnered status.
If that isn't feasible for you (it wasn't for me), you might find yourself on the wait list, even with great grades. Stay positive. Many current students applied several semesters in a row. For me, it had to be UTA: I'm a second-career applicant (many of my pre-reqs were over 10 yrs old and UTA is one of the few schools with no expiration) with Reasons that I needed to stay in DFW. :) Keep applying. Be flexible with clinical locations -- many students drive hours from their homes and get an air bnb overnight on clinical weekends. Think about on campus vs. ao.
You may already know all this stuff, but it would have meant a lot to me when I was on the wait list so I wanted to share!
I just got finished being advised and asked this very question, my advisor told me that the TEAS scores don't directly affect how they consider your application. You should definitely try your best on them but the grades you get on them, assuming you pass of course, won't be weighed in. I like to think of it like some graduate schools that want certain applicants to take the GRE without ever even looking at their GRE grades.
Hey there. I'm going to apply for the AO Program with a Fall 2019 start date. I read that you can apply after you completed 3 of the 4 natural sciences which I did over the summer. I only have A/P II left. Anyone know the best time to apply? Also, anyone know if admissions are rolling or if they wait until after the January deadline to evaluate applications?
hey, an engineering major guy here, who just switched to AOBSN in UTA. My story is a bit different because I already have a profession (closely related to engineering) that is well paid but I hate it. that is why I started with the AOBSN this semester and am also due to apply for the Fall 2019. now I ve read a lot of guys are considering applying for the nursing program in several different universities. What is the procedure with that? - you can apply in any BSN ,based on your credit hours from UTA? ...even out -of state online programs?
In the UTA AOBSN program do you find that you end up teaching yourself everything (like with most online courses)? How are classes administered online, lecture videos, live chats? Do you find the teaching methods sufficient enough to learn the material? How are the response times from professors and TA's when you have questions?
I'm applying for Fall 2019 AO and On-Campus but am leery about AO after taking so many of the AO pre-reqs at UTA. Some of the teachers are awful, horrible response times (if at all), and the grading/teaching methods have been inconsistent. All of my nurse friends have recommended not doing nursing school online. Care to give your thoughts?

Hi Yassi21! Sure! If you send me your email address, I'll be glad to! Yeah, that's right. Well, unless you already have a bachelor's degree. The requirements would be a bit different, but it's all outlined in the info I'm sending.
Also, yes. You do need to apply to the school (UTA, TWU), get admitted and then apply to the nursing programs. I still haven't found any study guides for the TEAS, but I need to get on it. I want to take it at the end of the summer/beginning of fall.
