UTA BSN & AO BSN - Fall 2019

Nursing Students Texas (UTA)

Published

Hello, all!

I am currently preparing to apply for both the BSN (on campus) and AO BSN programs at UTA, to begin in the Fall of 2019 - I am also applying to TWU's program, as well as two ADN programs.

So far, the only question I have is can I begin taking the Pre-Nursing courses (Intro, Pharm, Patho) after the application deadline? I believe I've read that I can, but I just want to be sure. I am still in the process of completing a few pre-requisite courses and might not get to these in time for the application deadline. Thanks in advance!

Best of luck to everyone!

**UPDATE**

I found the answer to my question, sorry!

Fall '19 applicants (or anyone) feel free to add general comments/questions!

I am Accepted!!! ? Campus Based

What a great way to begin spring break!

3.77 nursing prerequisites and 3.83 overall 2 considerations: Sciences at UTA and 30+ hours at UTA.

Congrats everyone! Fingers crossed Krey208

I was accepted to the AO program!!

Is there a thread just for AO students?

@carrollgrad2015 Congratulations! What were your stats if you don't mind sharing?

I also have not received an email yet! We’re the emails sent out just for early acceptance or for everyone? I’m getting a little worried :(

Thank you!

My stats weren’t great 3.3 overall GPA, 3.8 science GPA. But I am about to graduate with another degree from UTA in May, and I work at one of the partnered hospitals! So I think those two things really helped me out!

I’m not sure for they were early acceptances. I thought that everyone would find out something by the 15th whether accepted, waitlisted, or denied. I’m starting to worry also. The application deadline for the Spring is in June so I’ll start preparing for that one.

The way I understand it is that people who don't respond by the time sensitive deadlines, they will loose their spots and more emails will go out. The response for the initial email that went out March 8 was that a response had to be received by March 14 at 11:59. There there is the Canvas program orientation to complete by May 16, and registration opens March 21. CPR certification and one other thing must be completed by July something. Don't procrastinate to sign up. There are a couple of deadlines that must be met, and if not, you're out.

Then there are the applicants who don't have their vaccinations and titers up to date and submitted by the deadline of March 25 at 8:00AM. If your Heb B Titer doesn't show immunity, you have to redo the series, which is a 5 month process. Then there is the titer a month later and the time to process it.

Time will tell if more notifications go out after March 25. I have read on this forum where applicants can get notification just days before the semester begins.

Thank you so much @TXNurse97 for this explanation! This really helps a lot!
