UTA Spring 2020
@Volleyball Unfortunately, the deadline is the deadline and they won't make an exception to get any vax or titer done after the deadline. They won't even take a titer done before the deadline and result comes in on the deadline date but 2 hours after deadline time. The deadline was by 8 am and a titer came back at 10 am, was uploaded, they wouldn't accept it. I know someone this happened to. Don't give up. Go get everything you need asap and reapply for the next cycle.

UTA Spring 2020
In the March cycle of admissions, a lot of folks missed out on getting in due to not having all of their titers and vaccs done. No one screwed anyone. The information was on the website https://www.uta.edu/conhi/students/imm-prelic/index.php There is also a check list applicants should be following https://www.uta.edu/conhi/_doc/unurs/CB-BSN-UD_ApplicantChechecklist.pdf They always start with titers before going through a series again. It is the applicants job to be on top of what needs to be done. Also, join UTA CONHI Facebook group https://www.facebook.com/groups/456829824381047/

Also, check your Hep A vax records. Some childhood records have the Hep A Vac closer than 6 months apart. UTA wants 6 months, so you need to get the titer or do the vax again.

UTA Spring 2020
If you are applying for fall 2020, another thing you need to do right now, is go get your Hepatitis B titer, because if you are not immune, you will need to repeat the Heb B Series and that can take 6 months to complete, between the vaccinations and the follow up titer. They tell you to do this but they don't tell you that you must submit it within two weeks of your acceptance notice. The Fall 2019 class got their emails of acceptance March 8 and vaccinations and titers are due March 25 at 8:00am. Go read up on everything you need to do on the UTA CONHI webpages about the vax's. You cannot start too early and you could lose your spot. There is a waiver that I have heard some use if they have the vax's but waiting on titer results/have not completed the second series but the web page says it's for if your second titer says you're not immune. I don't have first hand knowledge with that except for what I have heard people say they did, so don't count on the waiver. Get your titers and vaccinations asap

UTA BSN & AO BSN - Fall 2019
The way I understand it is that people who don't respond by the time sensitive deadlines, they will loose their spots and more emails will go out. The response for the initial email that went out March 8 was that a response had to be received by March 14 at 11:59. There there is the Canvas program orientation to complete by May 16, and registration opens March 21. CPR certification and one other thing must be completed by July something. Don't procrastinate to sign up. There are a couple of deadlines that must be met, and if not, you're out. Then there are the applicants who don't have their vaccinations and titers up to date and submitted by the deadline of March 25 at 8:00AM. If your Heb B Titer doesn't show immunity, you have to redo the series, which is a 5 month process. Then there is the titer a month later and the time to process it. Time will tell if more notifications go out after March 25. I have read on this forum where applicants can get notification just days before the semester begins.

UTA BSN & AO BSN - Fall 2019
Was the 180 the number of online students or total online and on campus? What are your stats? Every day, my stomach gets more knots. Doesn't help with a Pharm test on Thurs. A on the first one. Praying to keep the momentum but seriously, some days I am a wreck inside.

UTA BSN & AO BSN - Fall 2019
@LDots LOL I know the vid you are talking about! I have never, or don't remember, the part where it talked about seats but then I don't really pay attention to it anymore. I have sat for a spell in the hallway in order to get an appointment but have not had to wait much to talk. There is so much to do! I get my last Heb B shot Friday. Titer said I was not immune from childhood shots so I had to do the whole series again. I hope I am immune next titer. Had to get a booster for DTaP and dang, it swelled up a huge red knot about 3 inches in diameter. Her's hoping and praying we both get a spot. I am usually not a worrier but I am so nervous.

UTA BSN & AO BSN - Fall 2019
@LDots I applied for on campus. It is the only school I applied to. If I don't get in this cycle, I'll apply to it again and TWU for the Dallas campus. Do you know how many seats there are at UTA?

UTA BSN & AO BSN - Fall 2019
When I read BWalker12's post some time ago, I contacted my pcp to get my titer tests and my TB test. I got a DpT booster that made a huge swollen red place on my arm. It was sore a few days and went away eventually. I was not immune to Heb B and had to restart the series. If you haven't been tested yet and are accepted, I hope they will allow you to get the vaccs while you are in upper levels because it takes months to complete them. I got one in November, the second in December then you wait two months for the third, which for me is February 20, and then get titer test again. And yes, do join the UTA CONHI facebook. I am still nervous that I won't get in. I am already behind graduating because of change of majors 2 years ago. What do people do for the semester if they don't get in for fall? I am complete on all lower pre req's after this semester and had just made it into Honors in the Business school when I changed majors. Do I spend more money taking classes and apply again? Do I take classes that are on the easy spectrum to improve my overall GPA and work for a partnered hospital? How do I find out who the partnered hospitals are? I am trying not to stress about this. I have worked really, really hard. I think I am pretty competitive with my GPA and 2 considerations of all sciences done at UTA and 50+ graded hours at UTA but know there are so many sitting with higher points than me. When will decisions for Fall 19 be released?

UTA on Campus Fall 2019
I just finished the semester and got an A in Micro and a B in Patho so now my over all GPA is 3.836 and science is 3.714. Two considerations. Have Pharm and a nursing elective, TX Government (and core curriculum will be DONE!) and an easy A filler for full time status next semester. When in March do the decisions usually come out. Early, middle, late?

UTA BSN Admissions
I have yet to submit my application. All I have left next semester is Pharm, a nursing elective and Tx Government. I have a 3.81 overall and 3.8 science GPA and 30+hours at UTA. Are applicants reviewed holistically or is it rolling admissions and as spots fill with qualified applicants, the remainder are waitlisted? I am worried that waiting this long that I will be waitlisted even though the deadline is in January. I have been told by a few (who knows if they are right) that I should have applied earlier if I wanted a spot for Fall 2019. Starting to get anxious about this.

UTA on Campus Fall 2019
Applying for fall 2019 this weekend. 50+hours UTA GPA is 3.81 Science science GPA is 3.66 with taken courses. A in all pre nursing classes except one that I was 89.5 Taking Patho and Microbio currently and on track to make an A in one and working hard to pull out an A in the other because I made a B on first test. Have one pre req left and 1 UCC I'll take next semester. I changed my major after freshman year of fall 2016 to nursing (fall 2017) so I took the HESI 94 score I am not partnered with any hospital nor do I have a job in the med field and I am worried that it will keep me from getting accepted into the nursing school.
