So I'm trying to see anyone is going to apply for UTA's AP BSN program the fall of 2017. I have been following threads and trying to get some information about how this program is set up. I did my application to the school last year for the Fall of this year. I'm trying to knock out my science classes, but I have withdrawal from my biology class 4 times and Im wanting to take my chemistry over the summer. Possibly doing my other 2 sciences with UTA. I haven't taken the Hesi A2, I plan to take that around the Fall. So, I just like us to update with each other and encourage each other to get into the program. I would do my stats, but I haven't taken gotten them yet. As soon as Im finished, I will post them. Everyone is free to post theirs
Hey Chichi89, I'm also planning on taking Patho and Pharm online at Mountain view. I've been trying to email my advisor but nobody seems to reply. I might have to do a walk-in tomorrow. I need to clarify that they will transfer these 2 courses in.What course #'s will you sign up for? I would love to have a class buddy!
Hey Aimeyh2, registration starts tomorrow. I am almost done with my pharmacology class and I will be taking pathophysiology this coming spring. Here is the course code to patho RNSG-1311-63410 that I will be registering for. And yes those two courses transfer to UTA from Mountain view. Only the nursing advisor can register those two classes for you.
Hello,
I am hoping to get accepted for Spring 2017. I have a 4.0 overall GPA and 4.0 in Sciences. I took the HESI A2 on the 15th and got a 96 overall. I don't have any considerations, however, and am nervous. I'd love to be accepted into the AO BSN program but will be applying to on-campus as well.
I'm currently enrolled in A&PII at TCC and will take Technical Writing from Dec 16-Jan 6th at TCC. When I finish A&PII I'll submit my application for the Fall.
Next semester I'm taking Patho, Medical Terminology, Intro to Nurs, and MICRO online at UTA. This is the plan so far.
Once I have the grades from this semester I plan to submit my application for the Fall 2017 start of the AO BSN program at UTA. I have read that this is very competitive. I am willing to share what my application status will be and hope that others will as well so we can all get a feel for where we stand.
Overall GPA on prerequisite courses 3.62
Science GPA 3.75
HESI complete, overall score 92
Considerations:
3 of the 4 science taken at UTA
More than 39 hours of prerequisite courses taken at URA
I will be starting a job at a partnered hospital on December 12, so I I believe that I will have that consideration as well.
Please share, and Good luck to us all
I completed the online UTA course a week ago and medical terminology during the first 8 week period. I found Patho to be both challenging and time consuming, but if you put in the effort all the information is available, I also found the class very interesting which made it easier to put in the time. (I made a very low A, but an A non the less). Medical terminology was a bore and there was not much help other than reading information and answering hundreds of questions on smart book for each chapter. (I made a high B in the course, I simply could not muster the energy to do the work for such a boring class where I felt the professor was mailing it in. I am taking pharm starting in January, my advisor suggested I not try to take Pharm and Patho at the same time.
Good luck
Hello everyone. I have just applied to the AO Nursing Program for Fall 2017. I am so nervous about getting in. April can't come soon enough.
Does anyone know what chance I have at getting in?
overall GPA: 3.56
science GPA: 4.0
HESI:93
Considerations:
- previous BS in education
- more than 12 hours of sciences from UTA
- more than 30 hours of pre reqs from UTA
I am not partnered with a hospital so that worries me.
Where on the degree plan does it say that we need to take medical terminology? Is it for both the campus and online program? I don't recall seeing this. Also does anyone know if any community college offers Microbiology wintermester?
Medical Terminology is considered the upper division elective.
