UTA AP BSN program Fall 17

Published

So I'm trying to see anyone is going to apply for UTA's AP BSN program the fall of 2017. I have been following threads and trying to get some information about how this program is set up. I did my application to the school last year for the Fall of this year. I'm trying to knock out my science classes, but I have withdrawal from my biology class 4 times and Im wanting to take my chemistry over the summer. Possibly doing my other 2 sciences with UTA. I haven't taken the Hesi A2, I plan to take that around the Fall. So, I just like us to update with each other and encourage each other to get into the program. I would do my stats, but I haven't taken gotten them yet. As soon as Im finished, I will post them. Everyone is free to post theirs

Taking all 4 classes in Summer would be a disaster! Do you know what happens if you do not pass Patho or Pharm? You cannot enter the program for a full year!!! Literally, that is a rule. These 4 classes (Intro, Patho, Pharm, and Med Term) have been very time consuming. I am glad the adviser told me to start them last semester.

I'm fully understand what you're saying, but I promise there were students doing it last Summer. I figured the stress of applying must have made them go crazy to try that. I didn't know about a "rule" other than the 2 fail rule and those classes count towards that. Maybe I didn't look into it since I was being optimistic. Intro and Med Term were easy, but I did struggle with Patho and Pharm.

Just in case some are unsure, Patho and Pharm are indeeed offered during the summer. I have confirmed this with two advisors.

There's a rule. It's in a rubric on the syllabus. You search the syllabus for both classes on the UTA main website, and there is a link for all the recent courses. It's in there be sure. I know multiple people in both my classes who are having that issue.

Just an FYI: When I said I was accepted, one staff member at the school called and gave me apparently erroneous information. Since then I've received my degree plan evaluation, which is not correct so I'm trying to get that straightened out. This is embarrassing and upsetting because I had already told many people I know about the acceptance.

Did you get in the first time you tried? I have my LVN but no degrees. I'm not completing majority of preques at UTA and I don't work at a partnered hospital. Is there any hope of getting in?

thankyou in advance

I think GPA might play a big part. You never know! I've had to make myself be optimistic. Keep your head up and keep going for your dreams. :)

Does anyone know when we hear back from UTA? Is it March or April?

I guess i misunderstood, thank you!! I'll definitely feel better taking them separately

For last Fall they notified us in April, so I'd expect similar this go around.

I apologize for the mis-information in my last post. I went back through my email folder and the acceptance, denial, or waitlisted email was sent on March 23.

Thank you for your reply. I was thinking ours might be in April knowing that our application deadline was much later than previous set. Their's was 5th January while our's was the 15th.
