UTA AP BSN program Fall 17

Published

So I'm trying to see anyone is going to apply for UTA's AP BSN program the fall of 2017. I have been following threads and trying to get some information about how this program is set up. I did my application to the school last year for the Fall of this year. I'm trying to knock out my science classes, but I have withdrawal from my biology class 4 times and Im wanting to take my chemistry over the summer. Possibly doing my other 2 sciences with UTA. I haven't taken the Hesi A2, I plan to take that around the Fall. So, I just like us to update with each other and encourage each other to get into the program. I would do my stats, but I haven't taken gotten them yet. As soon as Im finished, I will post them. Everyone is free to post theirs

How is patho and pharm going?!

Love Patho, Pharm is difficult mostly because we are given conflicting information from the instructor and not much direction in terms of errors on quizzes. For confidentiality they do not let us see our scores after a quiz. Both seem ok, I'm a little worried about the first Pharm exam this weekend, it's a lot to keep straight taking both together, but so far it seems ok. I'll have a better handle on it after this weekend.

Hi! I wondered if you're taking patho and pharm at UTA and if so, do you have Prof Urban for both? I have a friend who had her for pharm and said it wasn't too bad... just trying to gauge how my summer might be taking both together.

I am taking both at UTA this semester, however Mrs. Urban (who is amazing) does not teach Pharmacology, she never has. Pharmacology is taught by Professor Laird. You can look up every class they teach by searching their names on the UTA website. It's in their faculty profile. I would not take both in the summer.

Will anyone be taking intro to nursing this summer? And if so, does any current UTA student know when Nursing classes usually start at UTA during the summer? Is it Late May or early June? I know it runs for 5 weeks

Oh ok! You're right. I think I got the names mixed up. Thank you for the input! *If* I get accepted to start in the fall, that'll be my only option other than reapplying for the spring. Yikes

If I get accepted, I will be taking Intro to Nursing this summer. If not, I'll save it for the fall. Not sure of the start date though.

Wait, you applied for fall and you do not have the 4 required UTA Nursing pre-reqs?

The only requirement is that they are done by the start of nursing school. I know last year there were several students taking a full load during the Summer to make sure they got everything done in time.

Taking all 4 classes in Summer would be a disaster! Do you know what happens if you do not pass Patho or Pharm? You cannot enter the program for a full year!!! Literally, that is a rule. These 4 classes (Intro, Patho, Pharm, and Med Term) have been very time consuming. I am glad the adviser told me to start them last semester.

Oh no, I'm taking Chem now and will only have patho and pharm left to complete. I've already taken intro and med term. If I don't get accepted for the fall, I'll break it up. Or, even if I am accepted, I may decide to reapply for the spring just for the sake of not taking them both in the summer.

Call and ask a registration specialist to be sure but they are twelve week classes and don't believe they are offered in summer!
