UT houston spring 2010 hopefuls

hi there, I'm a spring 2010 UT houston hopefull, I'm trying to see who else is embarking on this journey so we can support each other. I really enjoyed tracking the Fall 2009 class, and I hope we can do the same. I still have a few classes to take. I am currently taking chemistry. As of now my science GPA is 3.33, and overall gpa is 3.61. I am taking the net in May.

Can't wait to hear from others.

I talked to my aunt who is a PA and she said she likes the Littman Cardiology II stethoscope I thinks its about 150$. She also said that the faculty will probably recommend one.

There are several nurses in my family and everyone I know has recommended Littman to me. I was also told, though, not to spend a lot of money on one for school because of the likelihood of theft and the rough treatment. I have the Littman Classic II on my Christmas list, and I'm having my name put on it just in case. It is only about $70, plus $14 for personalization, on allheart.com (medical supply website recommended to me by my aunt).

I can't figure out how to apply online. Everytime I go to the application, it brings me to a paper application, but their instructions state to apply online?

I'm challenged when it comes to computers, any ideas on what i'm doing wrong?

Howdy! if you go to prospective student and to the right there is a PDF of APPLY NOW, if you fill all that out, on the bottom you can push apply. It does look like a paper one, but it just goes through online... hope this helps.

i don't see it as wasting my time, i'd rather go to ut, and who actually knows if i will have clinicals, or even class, on either of these days, since they're both saturdays. i'm going to attend both orientations and then decide, and while i'm there ask about how cooperative profs will be.

Some were asking if I ever heard anything back from UT....they sent out an email last thursday saying i wasnt accepted and i got a letter in the mail. My friend who also interviewed on the last date with me got the same letter a few days ago.....Congrats to those who got waitlisted. I was pretty shocked they didnt want me but I am totally OK with it now. I have a 4.0, own a business, been in med field for 9 yrs, nailed my interview the lady who interviewed me said so.....maybe its because I took the NET more than once or because I had W's from the semester my mom died? Who knows what they want when you have so many qualified people....maybe its because I didnt take my pre-reqs at a University....all I know is that I wouldnt change a thing and my grades couldnt have been any better and my interview couldnt have gone better so all in all the universe has other plans for me. Congrats to you all and best of luck.....see you in the work force soon:)

Does anyone know how the waitlist work? Is it random or is there a numbering system? I am trying to see if there is still any hope for me.

I definitely think there's still hope! People are getting accepted from waitlist everyday. Its numbered from what I understand from the fall2009 forum, but I think I remember thinking you can call up and they might tell you your position. People are still between schools from what I understand, so you can probably get accepted up to weeks before...
