Hello Future Nurses,
Wanted to know if anyone was preparing to take the Hesi a2, and or applying to UT Houston before the Jan. 15, 2014 deadline for Fall 2014???? I would like to form a study forum!!
I took the TEAS V, its tougher than the HESI. I would recommend the study guide and I thought there was a lot on the scientific method, I was a bit surprised. Just use the study guide and review, review, review. I think it gets a little bit more in depth than the HESI and very heavy on all the sciences. Good Luck, I'm still waiting and have a back up plan just in case.
I concur.
i took the hesi and got a 92 average and took the teas and got an 80 average. 82 the second go round. (I retook it to up my scores in toe sections to get at least an 80 per section) the way the sections are scored makes no sense to me actually. It was a lot more difficult and more in depth.
Even though it hurts, I'm glad I'm not alone... I almost cried opening my rejection letter this afternoon. I sat back and really wondered why, but praised the Lord anyway. I've accepted a slot at lonestar, so I know I will end up at UT eventually. To all those who got denials, chin up! You guys made it further than many, and for that you deserve kudos! Be blessed, and never give up!
I just want to bring up the fact that some people in previous semesters were actually put on the wait list even while receiving denials, and even got accepted when waitlisted people were called up. Don't totally give up just yet, I don't think. However, I didn't think the TEAS was too bad. I did a little online prep, like sample test questions, and I did pretty well without heavy preparation. I thought chemistry did come in handy though. Good luck to those still waiting, and to those who know.
I just remember reading that people were put on the waitlist sometimes without even knowing it, received denial letters, and were surprised to find out later that they were offered admission from the waitlist. One was nici0513, I think on pg. 7 of the fall 2013 board, and I believe stacymonique had something like that happen. She posted about it on the spring 2013 board (pg. 7 too). I don't think it said on their letters, because they seemed surprised about it. I can't say this is always the case, and of course to have a plan b or try again, but it does happen, especially if your stats were good/competitive to begin with.
