UT Houston (Fall 2014 applicants)

Published

Hello Future Nurses,

Wanted to know if anyone was preparing to take the Hesi a2, and or applying to UT Houston before the Jan. 15, 2014 deadline for Fall 2014???? I would like to form a study forum!!

Hello! I am also applying to UTH for this fall. I have my application all done and have taken my HESI, so now I am anxiously awaiting the next couple months to get over! Here are my stats:

Total GPA: 3.85

Science GPA: 4.0

HESI

Cumulative: 96.8

Reading Comp: 96

Grammar: 94

Vocab & Gen Knowledge: 98

A&P: 100

Math: 96

Critical Thinking: 870

I am taking my last four classes this semester which are A&P2, microbiology, and my two electives medical terminology and Spanish 1.

I called UTHealth Registrar just now and it turns out that an updated transcript that I sent electronically around December 20 from UH has still not been received by UTHealth... I'm starting to get really nervous and concerned. I'm not quite sure if I should send another transcript or just wait until UTHealth gets the transcript. It's been quite a while! Does anybody else still have transcripts that haven't been received by UTH yet??

@gaca11 -- 1 of my transcripts has not been processed yet. Also, does anyone know if we have to send in a separate sheet of our HESI scores or will it be automatically sent to the school?

I would keep checking on them to make sure they've received the transcript. I spoke with someone from Student Affairs to make sure the school received mine. I gave the person my name and she was able to look it up my sent transcript.

From what I understand, if you followed the directions on the UT HSC website about signing up for the HESI, your scores will be automatically sent to them.

I called Student Affairs/Admissions Processing and the only thing I was told was that due to the winter break, processing has been pretty slow. I'm hoping that my transcript has been sent but not processed. I mean... I find it pretty impossible that a transcript could get lost electronically (maybe in the mail, but not electronically).

I'm debating whether or not I should send another transcript just to be safe. But, maybe I'm just freaking out too much! :(

I called student affairs today to check on my transcripts and HESI scores and the lady told me that they are working on processing the HESI scores into the system. She was also able to check to see that one of my transcripts had already been received. Its nerve wracking that the deadline is so close and to see these kinds of things on our to do lists!

Same boat as you! Official transcripts and HESI scores still on my to do list! I know the school should have both. I am giving them till Monday afternoon, then I will call. It will be fine. (:

I know!!! It's crazy. Luckily, my transcripts were taken off my Todo list today.. Which is SOOO relieving!

Hi everyone!

I am also waiting on my HESI scores to be entered. I took the Hesi in July so I am hoping that they do in fact have my scores...I will be calling Monday if they are not off of my to-do list by then. My transcript is also still on my to-do list, but the TSI requirement was removed so I am assuming that they have it and it is still on the list because I am taking my last few classes (TX Gov, Statistics, Chem, and elective) this semester.

My GPA is 3.81 and sciences is a 4.0.

Hesi: Overall - 92.8; Reading - 96, Grammar - 94, Vocab - 90, A&P - 88, Math - 96; CT was 790.

I'm a little worried that my CT was low, but I thought best not to retake since I was satisfied with all of the other subjects.

Where all is everyone applying? I have also applied to UTMB.

Good luck y'all!

It's really scary how we have almost the same exact HESI scores besides the CT portion. Congrats on your other stats! They look great! Good luck :)

I am also applying to UTMB and TWU-Houston

HEY guys I am also applying to UTH this fall! I can't believe the deadline is so close.... I wasn't planning to apply until next semester in order to study more for the HESI but I decided to just go ahead and try. Everyones stats are so high good job guys!

- HESI overall: 86

-CT:83

-science GPA: 3.55

-nursing GPA: 3.7

My transcripts are still on my to do list and its making me FREAK out :(

@marianneberistain: Those are great stats! I went ahead and called yesterday about my Hesi scores and she said that they had them but they might not show up until after the deadline due to delayed entering. If you're anxious about your transcripts I would call them just to confirm that they are there.
