UT Houston (Fall 2014 applicants)

Hello Future Nurses,

Wanted to know if anyone was preparing to take the Hesi a2, and or applying to UT Houston before the Jan. 15, 2014 deadline for Fall 2014???? I would like to form a study forum!!

@Cassidy your hesi scores are great! I was hesitant of completing my application after taking my HESI. My inital school that will be receiving my scores is TCU. That being I have to wait till Thursday to request a hesi transcript request that will take 3-4 buisness days to be delivered to UT. I don't know if they will receive them in time.

Overall=82.8

Math=90

Grammar=80

Reading=86

Vocab=78

A&P=80

CT=870

Science GPA= 4.0 (all sciences completed besides chemistry i'm taking in the spring)

Pre-Req GPA= 3.85 (from what I calculated with speech and bcis being my electives. The lady I spoke with said the registrar counts the highest grade to be counted as the pre reqs).

I'm just going to see how everything goes and Pray my scores are sent in on time. I was skeptical and worried about my HESI scores but all I can do is just Pray and see how everything goes.

I have been taking my pre-reqs at HCC. Would that affect my admission?

I have a gpa of 3.5 and science gpa of 4.0. my hesi scores are reading-84, math 94, grammar- 94, anatomy- 88 and critical thinking 840

Thank you so much! If it is post marked by or before the deadline I think you should be fine! Your scores are good too and are competitive. (:

You can call and ask them, and tell them what is going on to ease your mind a little. It will be okay! Everything works out one way for a reason.

Good job on your HESI! I got the impression from the info session I went to that they were all about numbers. I do not believe they really look at what school your pre-reqs are coming from.

Heya folks! I've also applied for the UT-H Fall 2014 term. The lurking comment made me chuckle and prompted me to jump in.

GPA: 3.78

Science GPA: 4.00

I took my HESI just two days ago. Here's how it went...

Math: 94

Reading: 92

Vocabulary: 92

Grammar: 98

A&P: 84

Composite: 91

Critical thinking: 830

Learning style: Kinesthetic/Global

Personality: Calm/People

Overall, I'm content with the results. The critical thinking portion could be better. However, I'll take that with my zero nursing experience! I look forward to attending nursing school with you folks! Good luck to us all!

what is a transcript evaluation and when would I receive it?

Hi all! I am also applying to UTH for Fall 2014

I completed my prereq hours at UH- Main Campus. I have not received any sort of transcript evaluation from UTH but from calculating what I believe is an accurate representation of my GPA, I came up with:

Prereq GPA: 3.812

Science GPA: 3.75

Classes still needing to complete:

-Texas Government

-Philosophy

-US History II (I may CLEP out of this class, however)

For my HESI:

Reading/Comp= 98

Grammar= 90

Vocab/General Knowledge= 92

A&P= 88

Math= 96

Critical Thinking: 890

Cumulative Score: 92.8

All my official transcripts have been sent in. Now, I'm just anxiously waiting!

Hi you guys, I'm also applying to UT-Houston for the fall of 2014. I have a hesi score of 88% overall. With CT of 830. I have to classes left history and philosophy. I wish you guys the best!

what is a transcript evaluation and when would I receive it?
"Submit one official transcript of all course work from each college or university previously attended directly to the Registrar's Office. Electronic submission is preferred" Those instructions are from the admission directions. You send your college transcript to them electronically. Then they see which of your classes can qualify as your prerequisites.
