Hello Future Nurses,
Wanted to know if anyone was preparing to take the Hesi a2, and or applying to UT Houston before the Jan. 15, 2014 deadline for Fall 2014???? I would like to form a study forum!!
Hi everyone!I also have been freaking out because 2 of my 3 transcripts and my Hesi score are still listed on my to-do list. Do all of yours say "initiated"? I took the Hesi on December 14th and I submitted my transcripts shortly thereafter when I filled out my application. I think I will give them a call tomorrow to hopefully get some peace of mind!
My scores:
Reading: 94
Grammar: 96
Vocab: 90
A & P: 96
Math: 100
Critical Thinking: 820
Pre-req gpa: 3.94
Science: 4.0
I am a little worried about my critical thinking score after what I have read about it being an important part of our scores.
All of mine still say initiated too. I called and asked about transcripts and they said they are dealing with several application deadlines and trying to enter tons of info into the system.
I think with your GPA and your excellent scores on your HESI, you shouldn't worry about your CT scores. 820 is a good score anyways!
so i tried calling the office to check one of my transcripts but no one picked up due to busy lines/not at the office? im getting a little worried now because deadline is in two days. is anyone else still having that problem with transcripts still on the to-do list?
Call student affairs at like 8am in the morning 713 500 2108. That's who FINALLY was able to tell me that all my transcripts were received.
As for finding out if anyone is going to evaluate them? hahahaha!
I figured I'd post up my stats.
HESI
Reading comp -90
Grammar -92
Vocab -94
A&P -100
Math -96
Overall -94.4
Critical thinking 830
I have a 4.0 GPA
However, I only have 34 of the required 40 hours of prereques. I'm hoping my humanities from lonestar and Spanish from LSU transfer and count as electives, as that'll bump me up to 41 hours.
I'm taking Texas govt, nutrition, US history 1, and US govt this semester and then philosophy, US history 2, and visual arts during the summer (that'll be all 60 hours done before the start of the program).
I have no idea where I stand as to my chances of getting accepted, but its nice to see everyone's stats and will be interested to see who gets accepted and who doesn't.
I noticed when I filled out my application that I had to enter my work history. I've been an LVN for the last 7 years and currently work in the med center. I don't where everyone else is coming from nursing-experience-wise and have no idea if this has any influence on one's application, but I'd be interested to hear where you guys are coming from.
Good luck to everone, by the way :)
Hello, where did you all see your Critical Thinking scores? I did take that section when I took the HESI. However, Critical Thinking is not displayed on my individual score report, unlike A & P, Vocabulary, Grammar, Math, Reading Comprehension, learning style and personality style. I do remember my score, but I am just worried because I don't see it on my report. Is anyone else dealing with a similar situation? Is this normal?

I had the same thing and was worried that I'd done something wrong.
If you log into the evolve.Elsevier site where hou see the link to your HESI scores there's a little plus sign to the left of it. Click on the plus sign, and the critical thinking score will be in there.
