UT Houston (Fall 2014 applicants)

Hello Future Nurses,

Wanted to know if anyone was preparing to take the Hesi a2, and or applying to UT Houston before the Jan. 15, 2014 deadline for Fall 2014???? I would like to form a study forum!!

This was my first time applying. :)

Hi guys! I'm a current UTHSC Houston BSN student. I will graduate in August of this year. I wanted to weigh in though, and say that yes, they send out acceptances in waves. I got mine really early in the process, on Feb 5. People were getting accepted all the way through the beginning of May, and the class began on May 20. Also, don't be surprised if some of you who are done with your pre-reqs by the end of this semester are invited to begin early, in the summer session. That does happen if the summer session loses members for whatever reasons. The admissions office is very overwhelmed, and getting a quick response to emails and phone calls is pretty much unheard of. I'm sorry to say that, because I know EXACTLY how frustrating and frightening that can be. Good luck to you all! Shannon

Hey everyone! I've been following this blog for a while now and finally decided to post something. Thank for the reassurance Shannon (herrismith). Those of us still waiting...did y'all apply early on or closer to the application deadline? I didn't submit my app until January 5. Wonder if that affects anything...as far as, how soon/late you get an acceptance/denial?

Yes thanks for the reassurance. I submitted my application closer to the deadline on the 12 of January. I haven't received any transcript evaluation I just have a green circle complete. April 15 is just around the corner for those of us waiting. Good Luck to everyone waiting and congrats to the ones accepted!

I submitted towards the end of December and haven't received anything yet. I called yesterday and spoke to a woman and she checked to see if a transcript eval had even been done for me and it hadn't. She did say however that transcript evals do not help or hinder our chances of getting accepted. I also probed a little and asked if she knew if they were still sending out acceptance emails and she said that everyone will know by the 15th. Hahaha. Can't blame me for trying! ;-)

I'm hoping they don't make us wait another 12 days! I wish there was some info on the website about how many students actually get accepted so we could compare that to the number of people in the Facebook group.

Numbers I have heard are in between 100-120 students per semester.
