UT AE-MSN 2019

Published

Hey everyone! I haven't seen a new thread for people applying to UT Austin's 2019 AE-MSN program, so I figured I'd start one :) I haven't had any correspondence from the school since submitting final material on October 1st. Anyone hear anything back from the school yet??

I actually forgot to ask as well. I was today in the morning session for PMHNP and no one asked during our group session but maybe someone in another session asked this afternoon. Looking at previous years it looks like within a week or two we will hear if we were waitlisted and deferred to Leads and if you don't hear anything that is good news. Then the official offers normally come out late January early February. However, I'm sure you can email Tracy and she will let you know exactly.

Did anyone get good feedback on their interview? I had my interview over FaceTime after 15 minutes of the interviewer and I trying to get my microphone to work over Skype. Hopefully everyone had a good interview.

I did an in person interview on Thursday the 13th for PMHNP. I did not receive any feedback at the end but the professor was kind and said she was hopeful I would get in. From previous years I got the impression that if you were going to be waitlisted and deferred to Leads you would receive an email within two weeks or so after your interview but if you were accepted you would not receive feedback until the end of Jan beginning of February when they tell you that you are admitted. Best of luck!

Hi nursesuziatx. My apologies for the delay. Given my longterm goals, I actually switched my application to the AE-PhD program rather than the LeaDs. Had an interview for that 28Nov, finishing up my prereqs then I am guessing will hear someone in January after those are reviewed. I haven't caught up on all of the posts yet, but I am hoping you got an interview for LeaDs if you switched! I have heard, from discussions with current students/faculty, that LeaDs has a much higher acceptance rate. So crossing my fingers for you. You can look at each years admissions/enrollment statistics online. Here is the link to it: Admissions & Enrollment Statistics | Graduate School | The University of Texas at Austin the school of nursing is one of the last couple pages:)

Hey guys!

Just got an email the other day letting me know I was waitlisted for PHMNP :( I declined the LeaDs offer because it makes more sense for me to pursue an ABSN and then apply for a masters program once I get my RN. Still holding out hope! If you didn't get this email that is probably a good sign.

Good luck everyone :)

Hi everyone!

Anybody hear back from them?

Hi everyone- I found out yesterday that I was accepted into the PMHNP program! I'm beyond excited. Hopefully you all will hear back soon. Best of luck!

Congratulations @rachel.cory! That is wonderful news for you!

I was wait-listed for the adult-gerontology CNS route (back in early December), but was offered an interview for the LEADS. I declined the interview offer, and decided to wait it out. I was genuinely surprised I even received an interview; my undergrad GPA was horrible (below a 3.0) but my graduate GPA, and prerequisite GPA were above a 3.0, and my GRE was not that good. In all honesty, I probably received an interview due to my medical experience in the military. Good luck to everyone in the next few weeks; as I've read in other application years, the decisions should be going out at the end of this month and early february.

Hi all! I just got my acceptance to the CNS program! Check your emails!

Congratulations @jaycimarie!

I was denied for CNS. Not a shock after receiving the Leads/waitlist offer a few weeks ago, but still disappointing. For any future applicants who are curious, my stats are below.

GRE- 159/153

GPA- 3.4 undergrad, 4.0 prerequisites

Good career experience but no healthcare experience, and I don't think my interview was great. I was very nervous! Good luck to everyone else, whatever path you end up taking!

Does anyone know if they use a numbered waitlist and whether or not they tend to draw from the waitlist for LeaDS?
