UT AE-MSN 2019

Published

Hey everyone! I haven't seen a new thread for people applying to UT Austin's 2019 AE-MSN program, so I figured I'd start one :) I haven't had any correspondence from the school since submitting final material on October 1st. Anyone hear anything back from the school yet??

Awesome congrats hanksey! What date did you get for your interview, or what dates did the give you to choose from? What program did you apply for?

Thank you Angela! The interview is December 14th. I applied for the CNS track. Has anyone else heard anything back yet??

Thanks so much for the information hanksey and good luck on the interview! I applied to the PMHNP program and have not yet heard anything which I had hoped it would be this week but I did read that the different tracks get contacted at different times so I guess I will wait and see.

Hey y'all. I also got an invitation for the fingerprints and an interview for the Adult-Gerontology track. Since I'm currently serving active duty in Georgia and will be separating and outprocessibg on the week of the interview, I'm going to be doing it over Skype. I'm a little worried about the fingerprinting. The nearest one to me is on the other side of South Carolina, and another in Tennesse.

Hi ya'll!! Congrats to everyone who has gotten an interview so far and good luck with them! I have applied to the PMHNP AE program but have not heard back anything yet. I wanted to check to see how many other people have already done the background check? Since I don't live in Texas, they want to charge 76 dollars, so I'm thinking about holding off on scheduling one until I know whether I get an interview. But I am worried that if I will lower my chances of getting an interview if I don't get the background check first.... Does anyone know if the background check is a pre-req for getting an interview? Thanks for the help!

Hey KoalaBat3498! I also don't live in Tx and the location of fingerprinting services are greater than 300 miles away--those that are registered with the Rx Board of Nurses. I have not yet found a solution...I am eager to hear if you figure out anything on your end!

Joeygarza5 Congrats on ETSing!!!! I am prior service also, I did 5 years active and then 8 years in the USAR and just recently got out myself. My husband is AD and is stationed at Hood but we live in Round Rock. As far as the finger printing is concerned I would contact Tracy and let her know the situation. I am assuming you already have a clearance being AD so you may be able to see if you can hold off on it. I don't think it is a pre requisite for an interview and they give a six month window for it because I believe international students clearances take longer but from what I have previously read most others received their all clear quickly. In my last job I had to have extensive background checks because of the nature of the job and they did not take long to come back and I am assuming those clearances took longer to come in than this one will. Tracy is super receptive to questions and normally emails back within hours of your email so if you have a concern I would just contact her.

Congratulations on the interview Joey! So exciting! For those asking about the fingerprinting, I got my interview request BEFORE I went to the DPS, so it was just a coincidence that they happened the same day. Tracy's email said it has to be done by 12/31, so you should be able to wait and see if you at least have an interview offer before you schedule it. I would contact Tracy if you don't think you'll be able to complete it before then. Good luck everyone.

Hi all! I also got the background check email about a week ago, but I haven't been invited for an interview. Has anyone else been asked to interview?

Thanks so much angelaspears!

Thanks so much hanksey!

I completed the fingerprint process and got my invitation to interview on the same day. My interview is scheduled for 12/14! I'm excited! I live right by UT, and I'm very hopeful about this program!
