USF MSN CNL non nurse spring 2018

Published

Hello everyone. I was searching for a thread but could not find one so I am starting this discussion topic for USF MSN non nurse spring 2018 applications.

Lets all discuss our stats like GPA, volunteer experience, etc. I have a decent prerequisite GPA right now. I have registered for Micro and psychology and will be taking in fall. My undertgrad GPA is 3.15 in computer applications (not that good). After working in customer service I was no longer interested in computers so decided to change my major.

Lets start this journey together and good luck to everyone.

I anxiously awaiting to hear back from USF! I have about a 3.5 in pre-requisites and have assisted living/memory care management experience. I am curious to find out what an average admitted applicant looks like. Does anyone have any idea? 10 weeks to find out more seems so long!

Hi guys! Like 5AAB mentioned, the first round of rejections in the previous years were sent out through email around October 3rd. I wonder if they'll be sent out sometime this week for us too.

I'm also wondering how many people applied to the OC campus versus the SF campus. Do you guys think the OC campus is less competitive to get into since its newer and less known?

Thanks for that, mangos526. Has anyone seen a status change then? I would think OC is less competitive due to being new but with each year it might increase in popularity.

Hi Mangos526. One month has passed and October is here. As per the last application cycle rejection decisions were made available in the 1st week of October but in their webinar on thursday they mentioned that "ALL RESULTS" will be available after the 10th week. Not sure how and when the 1st round of decisions will be sent.

Are you applying to any other school?

So, basically we have until the end of this month? :(

Yes, looks like :( . It's going to be a long month. Did you apply to any other college?

USF is the only school I applied to so far. I'm also looking at ABSN programs as a second option if USF doesn't work out! How about you?!

Another question- I'm taking physiology right now and I'm wondering if I had to send some kind of proof that I'm currently enrolled in the course. I just wrote it in the "in progress" section but I don't remember them asking for anything else. Just wondering since I know a lot of other schools ask to send a copy of your current schedule so I was wondering if we had to further verify anything.

When you have a course in progress it shows on your transcript, at least it did show in my transcript as I am taking Microbiology right now. I waited to upload my transcript until I registered for the class.

I have not applied to any other school yet but will be applying to other Entry level MSN and community college ADN too. Yes USF is my preferred school and I would love to go there but I do not want to let time pass waiting for a specific school to accept me.

This is my only college for now. If I don't get in this time, I'm applying to UCSF's program next year.

I am also planning to apply to UCSF next year if I do not get in to USF.

I check my app status like 20 times in 1 hour :? . Super nervous for the decision.

Yeah, idk if a status change will happen with us. I've been at submitted forever.

I check my email every waking hour. I heard it sometimes comes in the junk folder so I even check that one too. Starting to think I shouldn't even check or expect a decision until late October for my own sanity...

If I don't hear back in two-three weeks I might just give them a call. A friend found out she was waitlisted simply by calling so I might just do that!
