*For University of San Francisco's Entry MSN program due Sept 1, starting in Spring*
I wanted to start a thread to talk about thoughts, updates on the app process, decisions, etc. I should be submitting my application in a week or so once I finish the essays!
Good luck to us all!

I’ve applied three years in a row for a total of 6 applications to master’s degree entry level programs. So don’t give up! My background is a BA in psychology from SFSU and working as a caregiver for hospice patients. In addition to the prerequisites I have taken extra classes in gerontology because as a nurse I want to eventually specialize in geriatric nursing and help our aging adults ? volunteering with hospice and job shadowed a few nurses and NPs. I took A&P twice the second time for a B and A (two semesters), A in all other prerequisites. GPA for prerequisites work was 3.88. GPA for my bachelor’s was 3.36. Hope that helps.
Thank you so much for your encouragement! And CONGRATULATIONS! I also want to specialize in geriatric ?? and hope you meet you one day! If you don't mind, could you share what changes did you make between 6 applications?
The changes I made were experienced based. I had family members and clients who received a terminal illness diagnosis and because I had taken A&P nutrition and classes like that I was able to help with making a schedule for medicine with the doctor and coming up with a plan to make sure it was taken on time and who would be assisting each time. I also divided a healthy eating plan and taught my family member about diabetes management and blood pressure management with heart failure. Mostly because my family doesn’t like to listen to doctors but will hear another family member. I also added shadowing nurses and hospice training and diversity training. I think a big difference is in the last personal statement I got to the core of why I want to be a nurse but specifically at USF.
