I found out this morning that I was accepted to the SF campus.  Does anyone know how many people are in this cohort by chance?

Sure, but my previous experience was leading me towards a research career so I don't know how helpful it'll be? I got my BS at UCLA in Microbiology, Immunology and Molecular Genetics (MIMG) with a minor in Biomedical Research (GPA 3.65), and my MS at Berkeley for Infectious Disease and Immunity (GPA 3.88). In short, I have 3 years of undergrad research with two Summer internships and my MS was also research based.  I do have volunteer experience, but the bulk of it revolved around teaching science to underprivileged/minority students interested in STEM fields.

For me, the pivotal turning point was when my father fell sick and I helped take care of him for the better part of a year.  It was tough, but this directly impacted me wanting to change careers to help people in a more tangible way.

Although I am super excited to begin this new journey, I am very nervous as well!  But who isn't, right?  ;)

I've read on other forums that the SF cohort is to be around 30-35, but I can't say with confidence.

Thank you so much for sharing. I am sure you will do well and are ready for the program! You got this!!

I just checked my application and found out I got accepted in SF!! It said cohort of 31 in the letter. I’ve applied three years in a row for a total of 6 applications to master’s degree entry level programs. So don’t give up! My background is a BA in psychology from SFSU and working as a caregiver for hospice patients. In addition to the prerequisites I have taken extra classes in gerontology because as a nurse I want to eventually specialize in geriatric nursing and help our aging adults ? volunteering with hospice and job shadowed a few nurses and NPs. I took A&P twice the second time for a B and A (two semesters), A in all other prerequisites. GPA for prerequisites work was 3.88. GPA for my bachelor’s was 3.36. Hope that helps.
