USC New Grad summer 2011?

Hey! Just wondering if anyone else applied for USC's Versant program. I applied on the 13th (1 day before applications closed) for CVTICU & the abdominal tx ICU. Would be interested to see who else applied, and for which units. Good luck to us all :lol2:

Oh man, looks like everyone wants CVTICU!!

I haven't heard any news either way, which for me, is good news!

I precepted in a CCU/CVICU, so I'm hoping that will help me, even though I don't have a BSN (I do have a BS in Healthcare Administration...)

Yeah, it's pretty standard for most people to want CVICU from what I gathered reading older threads. You're so lucky you got to precept there! I have a BS in music, wonder if that actually helped. I'm so nervous that I WILL get an e-mail now, don't want to hear anything until the 27th! =D

I precepted in an MICU which is a CCU and has all the same patients as a CVTICU... But I put SICU as my number 1 choice, and i'm pretty sure most hospitals only look at your number 1. I wonder how many they are hiring per unit? If only 10 people total, that will be rough. There were more than 10 different units, so that means that some don't even accept new grads!?

I think the reason you read about so many interviewing for CVTICU last Dec was because that is where a large percentage of the available spots were. I initially chose a unit that did not need any new grads and they kindly asked if I was interested in interviewing for the CVTICU that did have openings (yes!, of course!). Unfortunately, I did not make the final cut.

Sorry to those of you who got the rejection emails---I've been there too.

Still waiting for news from USC, so I guess that's a good thing at this point. Sure hope I picked units that they are hiring for!

Did anyone else get the acceptance email this afternoon and the invite to go to the breakfast next Fri? I'm so excited!:D The email I got had 23 names on it. That can't possibly be all the interviewees for the 10 positions that someone said will be offered this time, can it?

Ya, I got an email today with an invitation to the meet and greet brunch as well! YAY! What units did you select as your top choices? Ya, I heard that they only have ten positions as well...but hopefully not!

I haven't received anything from them; neither a rejection nor an acceptance letter. The wait is killing me!!! :confused:
