hi, im american and im about to apply for CES evaluation. i have no plans to take the NLE in the philippines...do i still need to do the

"Request for Validation of Registration/ License Form"to the authority where you were initially registered/licensed and to all authority(ies) where you are currently registered/licensed outside of the U.S. from PRC?

or i just have to give an explanation that i am not legible to take the NLE because i am not filipino anyway...

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

If you are not allowed to sit the NLE then you have to get something from PRC confirming you are not allowed to sit the exam.

i see...thank you for your reply...this is such a disspointment...prc is going to take so long to do! and i dont even live in manila. anyway...im applying for massachusetts...do i still have to take the toefl? we all know that the medium of instruction of nursing schools in the philippines is english and they use english books but i want to make sure...

I think the state will decide once they have results of CES. If all course was completed in English it may be waivered. If you look here it is waivered if nursing instruction was in English http://www.pcshq.com/pcsweb/PCSCandPg.nsf/FNL/Eligibility_Criteria_102306/$file/Eligibility_Criteria_102306.pdf

Check out the Mass Board of Nursing, it does not require an English test to apply. Where are you planning on living, hospital jobs are hard to come by and newly licensed nurse programs are even harder.

yes thank you...i know one of my friends took her nclex for massachusetts and she was not required to take the toefl...anyway i better get started requesting for all my transcripts because i am a second courser and i need to get all my transcipts from all the universities that i attended in the philippines.

i am planning to leave for the US right after the last day of final exams...and after giving all the requirements for graduation, final grades etc. (im 100% sure i will not fail in any of my subjects anyway) and i do not wish to attend the graduation ceremony. i really need to go back to the US. due to personal reasons and i will just ask trusted relatives in the philippines to follow up on the process (making sure the schools will send my papers to cgfns for the CES) ... will this be okay? im a bit worried because i have left before the actual date of graduation which will be written on my diploma?

jamaica plain, massachusetts...i have family that already live in massachusetts, i have my SSN and everything...i just wanna take do the steps for applying for the nclex...

Do you hold dual citizenship in the Philippines? You only made mention of being a US citizen, but the PRC will not provide you with a letter of exemption if you still hold citizenship there as well.

i only hold US citizenship...not dual...never applied for dual citizenship...i have only one type of passport...and everytime i go in and out of the philippines to the united states i have to pay exit fees and all that stuff...plus some weird payment at the immigration part at the airport...

I have made numerous trips out of PI, and only tax I pay is Airport Travel Tax.

Never paid any tax at Immigration, I am US born Citizen.

Good Luck

You will be required to have the PRC send in verification to the BON that you are not eligible to sit for the NLE. This is being required of most states now as well as the CGFNS that you will need to go thru.

When one attends school out of the country, it is always months before they will get approval to sit for the NCLEX exam as you are considered a foreign grad. Always much faster for those that train in the US.

Best of luck to you.

hi everyone, im a natural born american citizen and i will be graduating from nursing school in the philippines march 2009. i have no plans to take the NLE. and right after my final exams and passing all the requirements for graduation i will be leaving for massachusetts. i am aware of the things that i have to do to take my NCLEX which is to have a CES from cgfns. i just have a couple of questions...and i hope suzzanne is reading this...

1. there is one part in the application for CES Request for Validation of Registration/License Form to your initial

licensing authority and all other licensing authorities outside of the U.S. who have issued you

licenses/registrations...i have no plans to take the NLE because i am not filipino and not even a dual citizenship so what do i need to do on this part? do i still need PRC to send them a copy that i am ineligible because i am american...and also there is a part in the application If you are not currently registered/licensed, please indicate and explain...

i just want to get a head start so i can prepare all the documents before i leave...but i must go back to the US a week or so after my exams...can i do this? will this look weird because i left earlier before the date of graduation of my diploma? it just means that im not going to attend the graduation ceremonies...please anyone help

this is a more detailed explanation of my case...anyway i have talked to PRC and they said to bring in the request form for the CES and a copy of my US birth certificate and US passport and they will arrange the necesarry documents...
