UPENN BSN MSN 2021

Nursing Students School Programs

I'm repplying for the PMHNP speciality and did not see a thread created so I figured I'd do it again! With the deadline passed, good luck to everyone who applied!

Good luck! I applied to the WHNP speciality. I'm going to go crazy waiting for February decisions!

I'm surprised there aren't more people on this thread, but hopefully someone will be able to help me. I applied to several schools for accelerated BSN/MSN programs and am getting conflicting instructions on filling out the FAFSA. For example, UPenn says to use the "5th year undergraduate" designation since they consider you to be an undergraduate for the BSN portion of the program. However, schools like Yale and Columbia want you to use the "1st year graduate/professional" designation. Unfortunately, there's no option for "I don't know, it depends on where I get in and where I decide to go"! So, I'm in a little bit of a dilemma because I don't know how to acquire financial aid package options from all of the schools (in order to make the correct decision for enrollment, et al) if I have to fill out the FAFSA differently depending on the school. Anyone else have this problem or know how to get around this?

Much appreciated!

Hi Daeron,

Wondering if you ever got more info about this? I'm in the same position of needing to report "1st year graduate/professional" for all schools except for Penn. I reached out to the Penn financial aid office a while ago but never heard back from them. Thanks so much!

Yes, I had to submit it multiple times. So, I sent one version to schools that consider me a "1st year graduate student/professional" and then I went back in, changed the designation to "5th year undergraduate" and sent it to the schools that consider me an undergraduate. Basically I just had to submit it multiple times in order to be sure I sent the right version to the right school. Does that make sense? The schools will look at the most recent version you send them, so you can go in and edit it multiple times while also deleting or adding the different schools.

Applied for PMHNP specialty. Good luck to everyone!

I applied for the PMHNP specialty! I'm hoping we hear back soon. The email they sent when I submitted the app said it was more of a rolling decision.
