UPENN BSN MSN 2020

Nursing Students School Programs

Updated:   Published

With the application deadline in ~30 days I figured, why not make a thread for applicants? I could've sworn I started a thread for this last week but can no longer find it. I'm applying for the PMHNP speciality and although UPenn is a relatively new addition, I have fallen in love with their program. Looking forward to replies from everyone.

I know for the past two forums they hear back as early as November. And it seems they release decisions by specialty cause a bunch of people with the same specialty get it at once then others next.

I will add that some people got it when everyone else did but some seem to have gotten it at random dates, whether that be because their email was being weird or something. The date most people got acceptance letters was Feb 6 last year and interview invites starting the second week of November

Does anyone know when interview invites are supposed to be released? Or when we can expect to hear back?

@RN7y2950 Apparently, in-person interviews are slim to none (only certain faculty still require this) but according to previous posts in the old forum, people began to hear back about interviews in early to mid November.

Hey Everyone, I applied to the BSN/MSN AGACNP specialty. From previous forums it looks like the AGACNP specialty might require an in person interview and that notifications are sent out around mid-November. Fingers crossed!

Hi everyone! I applied for the BSN/MSN Adult-Gerontology NP track... they just sent me an email saying they’re going to contact me in a few weeks regarding an interview. Is it possible for me to not get into the MSN but get accepted for the BSN?

I believe it is over the phone if you are too far away to do in person. They understand not everyone has the resources to come in person if they are far away. Man I didn't hear anything yet ?. Maybe they're doing it by specialty.

Yup, I believe you get to choose whether you do it over the phone or in person. Does anyone know if the FNP track sends out interview invites? Or do they solely rely on the application for acceptance?

Hi Everyone! I applied to the BSN/MSN PMHNP track. I received an email 10/24 that I will be notified in the next few weeks if a formal interview is required. Looking forward to going through the admissions process with you all. ?

My nerves are a wreck not knowing if interviews will be needed for psych or not. November is going to be one hell of a month

Are there interviews for the NNP track? I did not receive any email about a possible interview.

@lam1130 I spoke with admissions priorly and they said you can definitely get into the BSN without getting into the MSN you chose.
