UPENN BSN MSN 2020

With the application deadline in ~30 days I figured, why not make a thread for applicants? I could've sworn I started a thread for this last week but can no longer find it. I'm applying for the PMHNP speciality and although UPenn is a relatively new addition, I have fallen in love with their program. Looking forward to replies from everyone.

Do we have to do video interviews again ? After we’ve submitted a recorded one?

From what I understood from last year's forum, yes it is a video interview. Maybe they offer in person ones for people in the area or certain specialties. I know for psych and one other specialty it is definitely another video interview involved.

Wow! Thank you. I actually thought they were replacing the interview with faculty with the general recorded interview.

No problem! I believe it's just an extra step. You do another video interview before a faculty one for certain specialties.

One last question. Is the GRE waiver only for people with a bachelors in nursing only or bachelors other than nursing are included

From what I understood the waiver for having a GPA above 3.2 was for all applicants. I didn't see any fine print saying that was only for people with a BSN

Nope! They added the video interview portion to have a more holistic approach for all applicants (like some students may be stronger in their writing skills, but not so strong in their verbal communication). They did say some specialties may require an in-person interview before acceptance but this is not the case for most applicants.

Thank you! I listened to one of the recorded webinars and I heard that. Those recorded interviews were nerve wracking. Glad we got them over with .

I am so thankful the application is over with and now we just have to wait! Good luck to us...but February seems so far away ugh!
