Hi there. I am applying for the UofA MEPN 2021 program this Fall, and thought I'd open up this thread for others also applying at this time.
A little about me - I was originally going to apply for the 2020 program, but delayed it a year due to the birth of my youngest in late 2019. I have quite a bit of healthcare experience before the birth of my children, as well as volunteer experience in other areas. I haven't taken the HESI yet, but my stats are 3.5 (last 60), and 3.8 (prerequisites). I have a Bachelors degree in Biology, and am *really* hopeful to make it into this MEPN program. My goal is to be a Nurse Practitioner ? One of my aspirations is to serve impoverished communities in third world countries.
Would love to hear from others, and open up dialogue regarding questions and general advice.
I'm currently doing the practice questions on the Kira Talent tool to get used to the program... has anyone else received an error when submitting a recorded video saying 'status code 403'? I contacted Kira Talent support but haven't heard back yet. Just want to make sure this doesn't happen during my actual interview! Let me know!
I got this error couple times while I was using practice test. I was worried but did not contact the support team. when I hit refresh or something, the same question popped up again, IDK how the real interview will work.
I sent the email to the support team, but got an auto reply said they would get back to me on regular working hour.... IDK what should I expect tho? hope it won't happen during my interview.
Oh goodness, I would feel better about how my interview just went if I hadn't stinkin tried to write more in the written response when the time was getting low - I then tried to delete what I had added, and then the time stopped, so my response has an incomplete sentence at the end and I feel sooooo ughhhhhhh. I feel like they'll say "well, she can't time manage obviously" LOL.
Good luck to the rest of you. The questions were really good if I look from their point of view LOL, they are not very easy like someone else said above, in terms of how the practice questions are in fact a bit easier.
I got a reply from the support team. I'm going to try the incognito Chrome browser to see if this helps. I copy and pasted the reply email just in case anyone else needs help too! Good luck everyone!
"Do you mind restarting your computer and then trying with an incognito Chrome browser? Let's start fresh from Device Setup there - I'm worried you may have a third-party extension enabled on Chrome that may be blocking you from accessing the platform properly.
If the issue persists, could you please try again in Firefox (regular and private browser)?
You may also be facing a connection issue. Here are a few things you can try from our Internet Connection Troubleshooting article:

restart your computer
close all other apps (especially the ones that use a camera)

were you trying to say they are not very hard like someone else said above, and practice questions are helpful? I got confused a little bit LOL
I DID IT!! agree with the previous posts, personally I think the concept it is not super different form the practice questions, but the format is for sure different. My first question was the hardest one I think, but the rest of them are not bad.

Just did it, no practice. Didn't want to psyched myself out too much. Definitely different format than the practice questions. But if you have been to a job interview before, it kind of similiar to that. Good luck everyone! Here to 2 weeks waiting LOL
My stats are:
Overall GPA: 3.1, pre-req: 3.4, last 60: 3.8, HESI: 80
Currently working as an ED Tech and COVID screener aka Temp Checker. Have about 3k-4k direct patient care hours as MA and Phlebotomist. Around 100 hours of volunteering with the MCPH (Maricopa County of Public Health).
Compared to other students who posted their stats on here, I'm on the lower end, so MEPN is definitely looking at me holistically :))
