UofA MEPN 2021

Published

Hi there. I am applying for the UofA MEPN 2021 program this Fall, and thought I'd open up this thread for others also applying at this time.

A little about me - I was originally going to apply for the 2020 program, but delayed it a year due to the birth of my youngest in late 2019. I have quite a bit of healthcare experience before the birth of my children, as well as volunteer experience in other areas. I haven't taken the HESI yet, but my stats are 3.5 (last 60), and 3.8 (prerequisites). I have a Bachelors degree in Biology, and am *really* hopeful to make it into this MEPN program. My goal is to be a Nurse Practitioner ? One of my aspirations is to serve impoverished communities in third world countries.

Would love to hear from others, and open up dialogue regarding questions and general advice.

Best of luck to all the 2021 candidates!

Im doing it tomorrow morning ? I work all the other days so tomorrow is really the only time that works for me LOL

Finished the interview! So interested to see what you guys thought about it!

Me too! I’m getting antsy and I want to just pull the band aid off but at the same time I’m just like... maybe a little more practice won’t hurt LOL

uhhhh, I am going to pull the band aid off this afternoon, but I also told my babysitter that I may need her tomorrow as well LOL. I am super nervous!! I wish it was a in person interview, I hate to talk to a machine...

Yes! The prep time was 1 minute. And the camera is on but not recording ?

Congrats girl! Wishing you and everyone else here the best of luck! How do you feel the questions they provided prepared you? I took the interview last year in person and have some additional practice questions from it they didn't provide this year and I'm wondering if they are possibly forming the questions around those? Would you be okay giving an example of a question you saw?

Hi everyone!

I'm currently doing the practice questions on the Kira Talent tool to get used to the program... has anyone else received an error when submitting a recorded video saying 'status code 403'? I contacted Kira Talent support but haven't heard back yet. Just want to make sure this doesn't happen during my actual interview! Let me know!

The questions were tough. I spent a lot of time practicing and some of the questions took me totally by surprise. I don’t want to share specifics about the questions to keep things fair but I would say the practice questions they gave were easier than what I was asked

Do you feel the practice questions helped prepare you overall though?
