UNLV SON FALL 2018

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello everyone! :)

Since the Summer 2018 cohort is about to be announced, I thought I would start the forum for Fall 2018. Who else is applying? I hope the cut off score isn't as high as it was last fall!

Hey, good memory!

I did pretty well. Cumulative score of 95%

AMAZING! I hope to do as well as you did on my second time around! :)

I have faith in you!

You guys! I just found this out, and it made me so happy. If you took a minimum of 50 credits of pre nursing pre reqs here at Unlv, you get an extra .5 points on the calculation sheet! I just reprinted the sheet and I saw the new section and went to the office and asked them to make sure it was true. It made me pretty happy. I guess this gives UNLV students an extra benefit which is pretty awesome!

OH MY GOODNESS!! THAT IS SO GOOD! Thanks for sharing! I just took a look at the updated calculation sheet! That really makes me wonder how many students take a majority of their credits elsewhere and then transfer to UNLV for their SON. *insert thinking emojii*

Ugh, right when I was starting to feel confident about how many points I should have.... I am one of those people who DON'T have 50 credits at UNLV. I completely understand why UNLV is doing that, and I applaud them, but now I'm even more worried about not getting into the program. Excuse me while I go cry in a corner now.....

Hey, Lindsay71105.

Don't beat yourself up! You got a 95% on the Hesi which says a lot. Do you have an estimate of the amount of points you will be at once this semester is over?

Aprilie22,

I am finishing up micro right now, and I am literally on the A/B cusp. So, if I get a B, I'll be in the 96 range (can't remember exactly) and if I get an A it'll be around 98 points. I'm really hoping I'll pull off the A, but I'm starting to think I won't be able to....

Hey Lindsay71105,

I think either way, you should be fine! :) Those points are so good!

I definitely felt a little more confident before the additional 0.5 points.... fingers crossed

If you are at 96 points with a B... I don't think you should worry at all. I doubt the cut off will reach above a 96. Seriously! Man, I would be so happy if I had 96 points!

My anxiety is killing me :-( I'm finishing up Micro and I am sure I'll end up with a B (no + or - in grading). I'd be at 94.48 points with that grade AND if I can manage to get a 97% on my HESI. Would that even be competitive enough when the Fall '17 cutoff was a 94.4ish points? Has anyone heard of a 99 or 100% HESI cumulative score?? Arggh I'm feeling defeated already );

Hey @roflcopter9000! The highest HESI score I've heard of was from my friend who got a 98%, but thankfully she's not applying for Fall! Lol
