I thought I'd start a thread about the summer 2015 University of Wisconsin Nurse Residency Program...I saw that some other applicants had posted on the earlier group's thread, but I thought we could use our own! I love my privacy, so I hemmed and hawed about starting this dialogue, but I realized that I kept checking for someone else to do it, which was silly!
I submitted my application in Mid-November, and was contacted to arrange a phone interview the week after Thanksgiving. It took a couple of days to get that arranged, with 12-hour clinicals going on. When we finally spoke, I was scheduled for that same afternoon! (So, be prepared for this possibility! I was glad to get it over with, personally). Four business days later I received an email asking me to submit references, and now.....I WAIT. Ahhhhhhrggg!
I really want company on this journey-- so let's talk! I always feel it's hard to put yourself out there online when there's a possibility that you'll NOT be accepted/hired, but I think we can make this thread a supportive environment for everyone :)

Hi,
I am also going through this process. I interviewed this past week and have also submitted references. Hopefully we will hear back this week about the in person interview! I felt good about my interview so fingers crossed! I certainly like what the recruiter told me about the organization and the respect nurses are given.
Yes, it seems like an amazing place to work. I also spoke to the recruiter about inter professional relations at the hospital and she was very enthusiastic, which is exciting. Nice to hear this is a recurring theme! She told me we would probably hear before Christmas about whether we will have an in-person interview, so I also think next week is likely.
Glad to hear that you were told that we would know by Christmas! Good luck to you!
Best of luck to you as well.
Has anyone heard back about in person interviews yet?

I heard today!
Awesome! What unit will you be interviewing with?
I heard today as well! The email said that the unit and other specifics would be forthcoming.
So, I found out I will be interviewing for General Medicine and Geriatrics, one of my top choices! My primary nursing interests are geriatrics and psych so I'm super excited. Anybody else care to share their particulars?
I'm originally from Wisconsin, but I've been living in Colorado for the last several years. So I'll probably fly in a couple of days early, stay with family, and get a motel room in Madison the night before just in case there's a blizzard or something. I've always loved Madison (it was the "cool" place, so my friends and I would drive up in high school to hang out on State Street). I visited again last summer and still thought it was pretty great!
Has anyone had their interview yet? What kinds of questions did they ask? Was it like the phone interview (situation based questions)? Also, from previous forums people talked about having an information session and such on the interview day. Has anyone heard if they are doing that for these interviews as well? In the e-mail I received it only talked about the actual interview. It didn't talk about meet and greets or information sessions.
