What is the min. GPA and NET scores that have been accepted in the past for the BSN program? If anyone has info? Thanks

Hey Becca, try www.cpr-now.com. They offer the class every Sat. and are located on Spring Stuebner. I met someone there who is also starting the UT program this month. Her name is Erica, mid twenties with long brown hair. Thought that maybe you would want to meet her and maybe have a carpool friend as she lives in Spring. Good luck finishing up everything and with the start of the program!

I'm in an ADN program in the "Lone Star" district because it was cheaper and closer than UT-H.

However, the hospital I work for and plan to continue working for after graduation has a nice RN to BSN transition program through UT-H with classes one day a week for 2.5 semesters via teleconference at my hospital, and I plan to do this. I finish my ADN next May, but plan to start working on the BSN immediately that Summer via this program. What this means is that I will likely be graduating with my BSN along side many of you. :)

That sounds like a pretty sweet deal! What a great opportunity. Does your employer also help pay for teh RN to BSN transition program?

Thanks amm4! I emailed that website about availability for Sat. I also found a place off of 1960 that has the class on Saturday. That's great news that someone else lives this far north! I will def. have to try and set up a carpool if possible. Hopefully, you'll be going to campus some of the same times and we could possibly all get together. That would make the commute SO much better!

They offer tuition reimbursement up to $2500 a year.

They also recently started a $7500/year scholarship program (with two year post-grad work contract), but this has limited spots.

Crap. Just checked finaid status on UT Link. The stafford loan amts I was awarded cover less than half of the $$ I need for school. This is no good. I guess I'm scrambling for private loans now. What are y'all doing?

How far North are y'all? I'm in the Woodland's area.

dissector, I am also in the Woodlands! I will be starting the generic program in the Fall though. With 4 kids at home, having all the didactic work online(at home with the kids) didn't seem like a good plan for me. But, if you ever want to study, bounce ideas, or carpool if our times ever match up just let me know. It's great knowing that there are others that live out this way. Good luck with the start of the program.

Hey dissector, I'm on Lake Conroe so I'll be coming your way. Amm4 mentioned meeting someone else that lives in Spring that will be starting with us. It looks like we have the making of a great carpool. I'm all for it!

Hey bacc2 students... anyone buy your books yet or happen to have the ISBN/titles of books that we will be using? I haven't had a chance to get up to the bookstore and scope it out yet.

Hey, just wanted to say that I live (well technically past tense now since I'm moving to the med center this week!) in Spring, so yeah I know the commute sucks! Plenty of people who live in Spring, Conroe, and the Woodlands do the Metro park-and-ride thing. Otherwise, do yourself a favor and find a carpool buddy. The commute is long, traffic is annoying, and parking is expensive. So anything you can do to make it all better is great.

Current UT accelerated students: lemonlime, horus, and others...

I was curious to know how many people failed out or dropped out of the program this year. I heard that something like 5 people were kicked out just recently but not sure how much truth there is to that so thought I'd ask. Any pitfalls to avoid? Other than the obvious of keeping up with massive reading, not missing clinicals, and following obvious rules, what are some reasons people have not made it through the program? I guess I thought everyone made it through but this recent rumor has me a bit concerned. Input appreciated.
