Hello there! I just wanted to start this thread to see if there were any people applying to USA for next fall for their nurse practitioner program? I am applying to the BSN to DNP-Neonatal Nurse Practitioner program. Anyone know how the current pandemic might affect the application process? Thank you all in advanced, looking forward to hearing from you all and starting this journey. Also, I am currently based in FL, anyone else from out of state care to share their experiences with this program being online and all? How was it finding a clinical site and preceptor?

Awesome!! I'm waiting to hear back, I submitted everything at the end of December for Fall 2021 ACNP/FNP. I'm so excited!! I agree this is an AWESOME program offering! I did receive the extension email. Wondering is that good or bad...... I mean did they get so many applications that they denied, the had to extend OR did they not get enough and have accepted everyone thus far???? I got accepted to another ACNP program part-time but would LOVE this program more. Good luck to you as well!!! Keep us posted!!

Just wanted to say hi!

I just submitted my payment for the Fall 2021 BSN to DNP dual role FNP/AGACNP program! Did anyone else get the email about the deadline extension to March 1st? Any ideas why that occurred?

I'm actually from Washington state but work full-time in a combined telemetry and ICU unit so my preference is for an online program. USA is the only program I could find in the nation with not approved clinical placement in my state and a fully online program but also a specific cardiovascular subspecialty. I know most graduate programs aid in completing board certifications prior to graduation for most specializations but I was extremely excited to find a program that puts an emphasis not only on cardiovascular but also on clinical lipidology. My end goal is a practice focusing on cardiac health and education in my area. I've only applied for this specific program this year but if I don't make the cut I will begin applying for multiple programs to start next year. This was honestly the best fit for me though.

Anyone else for Fall 2021 specifically? Do you have a specific goal?
Are you applying to more than one program at this time?
I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone more and best wishes on acceptance to everyone!

I submitted my primary, but decided not to proceed with the secondary due to students having to find their own clinical preceptors. So I applied to programs that placed their students. Good luck

That was an initial concern of mine as well. Luckily we have had an influx of APRN's coming to work with our pulmonologists in the ICU and I have been working closely with one in particular  who I worked with previously at another hospital before he finished his degree. He was excited to hear I was returning to school. He's offered to either be my preceptor or help me find contacts if I'm accepted. If I am not accepted the programs in my state do place their students and I'll end up applying there but the program itself is my first choice so I was grateful to have that peace of mind. Good luck with your programs as well! ?

Have anyone received a decision yet? The director stated that once they receive your applications and all items, a decision is made within a few days.

I applied back in August and have not received anything but a confirmation they have all my required materials.

Oh wow. That’s a long time. Maybe what I received was just a general office of admissions email.

Yeah, they said a decision will be emailed followed by a snailmail 6-8 weeks after deadline. The deadline was extended from February to March.

I'm sweating about waiting and I just turned it all in last week. You're a trooper!

I was also under the impression it would be 6-8 weeks after the deadline which is part of the reason I was wondering why they ended up extending it.

I applied to the Fall 2021 DNP. Waiting for all the transcripts to arrive. It's in the received stage. Waiting for the verification stage so that I can do the supplemental application. I want to do the FNP/ENP program

That's fantastic ? my transcripts took awhile but that was over the holidays. The final verification after I completed my application was only a few days which shocked me since they said to expect 2-4 weeks. Good luck with your application!
