University of San Francisco BSN Fall 2021

Published

Hi everyone! I haven't seen a forum for USF FALL 2021 BSN yet, so I decided to make one so everyone can ask questions, encourage one another, and share stats!

I'm applying with:

Science GPA: 4.0

Overall: 3.91

Volunteer w/ letter of confirmation: 100+ hours

I'm not sure if they look into this, but:

- Bilingual

Good luck everyone! Feel free to comment below!

Did USFCA automatically defer your application or were you waitlisted first and then deferred? Also, out of curiosity when you say “I got deferred” does that mean you automatically start Spring 2022?

Sorry this is the first time I’m  applying to nursing programs ?

Hello! Going off of her question, does this mean the spots in Spring cohort won’t be 60-80, Because the applicants got deferred? So they won’t choose 60-80 students?

Clinicals start in Spring. Fall semester is for students who need to finish in-progress pre-reqs. I hope this helps! If they believe you finished (most) of the courses, you'll be placed for Spring.

I assume that's why the accepted students range from 60-80. If many are deferred for Spring, they may accept less people. I'm not extremely sure, but you can email the counselor regarding this.

This makes me wonder if it’s better to apply for the Fall.

For fall, they strictly only accept 30 students (no more than that) for Hilltop. Thus, it can be seen as more competitive.

Does anyone have a plan of paying for each semester? I got a 15k scholarship award (annually, so 7.5k per semester). I also applied for FAFSA, but the cost is still extremely high. With FAFSA, the cost for me cut down to around 23k. With the scholarship, I'd still have to pay around 15k per semester.

Can any current or prospective students advise me on this? Did anyone take out loans?

Did you get an email about your financial aid package? So I never actually got an email when I got accepted—I just saw the acceptance on my portal when I clicked the link under status updates. I'm hoping to get some financial aid, but we will see. I'm most definitely going to have to take out loans. And I'm going to try to work while in the program, although I don't know how many hours a week I will be able to handle. I don't want to work anything more than 3 days.

Late post, but I got waitlisted and will get another update on May 18. Just wondering, for those who got accepted, when is the last day you can secure your spots? Is it before May 18? I'm just curious because I don't know what their basis will be for those who are on the waitlist.

5/15 is the last day

I got in for Spring 2022! What an emotional roller coaster ride this has been!  Congratulations to everyone admitted.  If you did not get in, please do not lose hope.  Keep your head up, keep pushing forward and keep applying.

I'm a little confused because I got 10k scholarship, but I also applied for FAFSA and when I log in to my student portal it doesn't show me being awarded anything for FAFSA!???  I definitely can't fund this entire education without financial aid so I'm not sure what's up with that.  I think they send a packet in the mail in a couple of weeks that has financial details, etc.  Also I do have to do 7 units in core credits since I'm a transfer student, so I'm still waiting to hear from my 1st choice school, since it's cheaper and I won't have to do those additional core credits at my 1st choice, so it's likely that my spot may open up to someone on the WL in the next few weeks  . . . .  They give us until May 15th to pay the deposit and confirm we accept.

This happened to me too. Email them if it still doesn’t pop up by tomorrow. My FAFSA + 15k scholarship information showed up yesterday after I emailed the Financial Aid Department. Good luck!

Hi! May I please know if you used links available on the USF website to apply for scholarships?
