  1. @nurse2024stanford66 nooe I didn't get a call back for 2nd interview. But I got my dream job I. The OR at a hospital 3 min from my house so it worked out!
  2. No, they are very strict that you get hired at one location and you cannot swap or switch. After 6 months you can apply to other jobs or even specialties that may not be at the same location but not while you are in your preceptorship and probationary period as RNI
  3. The truck is really to be yourself and reheorifice your presentation like crazy! I have very little Kaiser clinical experience, but my presentation was well-reheorificed and so it came out naturally. I didn't just read my presentation, and I really tried to show who I was and my background. I also tried to make sure that I followed the rubric they offer for the presentation and that I was covering the highest point possibility that they show for each section. I also included the Kaiser mission statement but I "folded" it in to my presentation, rather than just stating their mission/values statement and claiming that I also align with those values. It seems way more authentic if you can do it in your own way ?. Also my presentation was only about 8 minutes, so don't think you have to use up the full ten minutes!!
  4. Hi everyone! I hope you are all doing well in your residencies! I am in cohort 6 and will be starting in just over a month. Can anyone tell me what the FIRST week is like? I'm assuming it's mostly new employee orientation etc. Is there much floor exposure? Or mostly educational stuff and shadowing etc? Trying to get an idea what the FIRST few shifts are like as I have heard they're a little different than the rest of the orientation period for new grad residents? Thank you!
  5. Do you have a limit to how many vacations you can bid for? Like I know we have a set number of vacation days, but if you know you won't likely get a requested vacation, do you request more vacation opportunities knowing you won't get many of them?
  6. What facility has that policy? I'm curious! I'm not 100% sure if the details of Kaiser yet, but as a new grad resident I do t expect to be able to take much, if any vacation for at least the first 6 months!! Everything is seniority based at Kaiser, so you may put in for vacation during high demand vacation periods, but you may not get it approved until you reach a certain level of seniority. That's my understanding this far at least.
  7. .. also once you go to RNII (6 months in) your pay rate bumps up again, and if you work evenings (3-23:30) you get an 11% differential on your base pay and if you work night shift (23:00-7:30) you get a 17.5% differential. Pretty great.
  8. Congrats! I got an email today for San Rafael ?
  9. @ALawOMG congrats! Two of my classmates also accepted that job!!! You'll be so happy there ?
  10. @ALaw awww that's nice! But I didn't mention anything about my Kaiser rotation, and everyone else did, so I think that could work against me ?. Yes, I remember you!! I thought your presentation and experience were AWESOME too! I hope we BOTH get it and end up working at the same location ??
  11. Phew ? interviews are done and now the agonizing WAIT begins!! How is everyone feeling?? I thought all of the candidates on my panel were GREAT. I remember the coordinator mentioning that decisions are July 10th (a couple of days before the posted schedule indicated), but then offers don't go out until about the 17th ... Does that mean we are waiting to hear back until around the 17th? Or will we get some sort of notification around the 10th? It was a blur by the end, so I don't recall all the details after the presentations were done!!
  12. Congrats! Did the phone call say "unknown caller", or was it a phone number? I just kissed a phone call about 15 min ago from an unknown caller but they didn't leave a message! I hope it wasn't Stanford ?. I'm still assuming I wasn't chosen but glad to hear they're still calling people!!
  13. @ikerr so well said! I was totally emotionally worn out the rest of the day after the interview. There were a couple of questions that I had to "wing it" on, and they may not have been the greatest answer, but like you said: we aren't perfect and we ARE students with very little clinical experience, so we just have to try to be our authentic selves, and hope that the fit is right. I am also chalking it up to experience, and knowing that I will end up wherever I am supposed to be. Just do those interviews and apply and let the chips fall where they may!!
  14. No, but I think the moderator said they would be making calls by Friday? She said "Friday the 24th", but since the 24th is a Saturday I'm assuming if I don't hear anything by tomorrow evening that's it. Good luck to you!!
  15. Congrats to those with a 2nd interview! Yeah it's probably more like 1 out of 5 will be chosen for a 2nd interview ... it would be too hard to choose just one from each group if there were say, 3 really strong candidates and different managers from different units were interested in each? I just interviewed for surgical div 2 yesterday afternoon and I agree I was fried after! The experience was great though, no matter what happens.
